2 yearsThis is clearly a fraudulent scheme, a total con regarding credit checks! I've got no outstanding debts whatsoever and haven't applied for any loans. What's truly unsettling is that they knew my actual name.4 yearsI’ve been receiving incessant phone calls intended for my neighbour, who is a lovely 92-year-old lady suffering from Alzheimer’s. These distressing calls, where she is falsely informed about outstanding debts, really upset her. Despite my repeated advice to simply hang up, she often forgets, which leaves her in tears whenever she approaches me for comfort. It’s truly heartbreaking to witness her struggle like this.5 yearsBeware of fraudulent schemes posing as credit checks!5 yearsBe wary of this credit enquiry con job.5 yearsI keep getting bombarded by calls from this number, and it's driving me absolutely bonkers!5 yearsI received a phone call from a male who had an accent reminiscent of someone from India, Pakistan, or Bangladesh. He had my name and mentioned that he was representing the Debt Department Bureau, claiming that there was a debt registered under my name. When I probed for how they obtained my contact details and requested further information regarding the alleged debt, he abruptly hung up. Upon attempting to return the call, I was met with a message indicating that the number didn't exist. Interestingly, this isn't the first time I’ve had such calls. About three months ago, I was bombarded with similar calls daily, each time from a different number starting with 01... My phone even pinpointed the location, revealing that the calls were coming from various towns, predominantly in South East England, with a few from the vicinity of Birmingham. During one of these interactions, I asked for their company's licence number so that I could verify their legitimacy on the government website. To my surprise, they hung up immediately. After that, the calls stopped until they started again on 19th November. Today was the third call I've received since last week. My advice is to always ask for the company’s licence number and refrain from sharing any personal information. Additionally, if your phone permits, make sure to block these numbers.IndiaPakistanBangladeshDebt Department BureauSouth East EnglandBirmingham5 yearsDefinitely a scam, best to steer clear.
