I’ve just had a rather similar encounter myself, receiving a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft, insisting there’s an alleged issue with my computer. I calmly hung up without engaging. A short while after, I tried calling back using 1471, but it led me straight to a dialling tone. I must admit, this whole situation has left me feeling quite cautious.
