A lad rang me out of the blue, keen as mustard to chat about putting money into the Fine Arts sector, claiming it’s been raking in an eye-catching 11% return over the years. His relentless chatter showed little regard for whether the timing suited me, but there was nothing particularly underhand or suspicious about it. Just a classic cold call, really. I had zero interest in his pitch, but out of sheer politeness, I let him ramble on. He mentioned that his team would follow up after I’d managed to look over the brochures he'd promised to send. Although I made it clear a few times that I wasn’t in the market for investments, he ploughed on, undeterred by my disinterest. My lack of outright rejection seemed to give him the impression that I was open to future conversations, but he couldn't have been more mistaken.

Had a call from a guy who seemed to be pushing some art investment or somethin'. Honestly, his line was awful and I could barely catch what he was saying. I told him I don't do investments and just ended the call.
