I got a call from a young bloke trying to sell investment opportunities in the Fine Arts sector, claiming returns had been around 11% for years, making it sound quite appealing. The call was completely unexpected, and he just kept jabbering away without asking if I had the time. There was nothing fishy about the chat, and nothing that made me suspicious, but it was definitely one of those cold calls. I wasn’t keen on the idea, but to be polite I let him speak. He mentioned his team would be in touch later after I’d had a chance to go through the brochures they’d post me. I did try to make clear now and again that investing wasn’t really my thing, but he just kept on pushing his spiel. Because I didn’t shut him down outright, I think he assumed I’d be open to taking it further, but he was wrong.

Had a call from a guy who seemed to be pushing some art investment or somethin'. Honestly, his line was awful and I could barely catch what he was saying. I told him I don't do investments and just ended the call.
