Turns out that code gives them access to change your password, order phones, and switch tariffs without you knowing. Don’t pick up! This happened to me. Then, about a week later, they rang again with the same offer. When I called them out, telling them I'd just spoken to O2’s fraud team and labelled them fraudsters, the guy called me crazy. I said there’s no way they’re from O2 - that’s not how real customer service sounds. He just called me mad again and hung up.
