This number is pure rubbish. Definitely a scam, they always leave these dead silent 1-second voicemails. Look at the comments below, I blocked it but they still managed to ring me TWELVE times - like three times every day. Just piss off already!!!

My phone warned me this might be a scam number, so I didn’t pick up the first time, but I did the second. A woman answered, sounding like a recorded message, speaking really slowly. She asked for info like my address, and after I gave it, I got uneasy and told her this isn’t the number NHS said they would ring me on. She said she’d check with her manager and put me on hold. I waited around 2 minutes and then ended the call. No one’s tried to contact me since.

It’s sent me into a bit of a panic, wondering if I’ve unwittingly divulged personal details to a fraudster. I tried ringing the number back, and to my surprise, it was an automated message welcoming me to NHS Track and Trace. Can someone from NHS Track and Trace please clarify whether this is a legitimate call or if I’ve fallen victim to a scam? I’d really appreciate any guidance on this matter!

On the 24th of October, 2021, I received a rather alarming text following a phone conversation with a gentleman who had the number 02045153232, purportedly from NHS Test and Trace. The message conveyed that my name had been flagged by the NHS as someone who’s been in contact with an individual who tested positive for COVID-19. It instructed me to self-isolate at home for a duration of ten days from my last interaction with this individual, unless I fell under some exemption category. Furthermore, it urged me to log into my NHS Test and Trace account to submit my personal information, explaining that this was vital for guiding me as a contact. My account ID is zf********, and I was advised to keep it handy for signing in at [link removed]. They ended with a note of thanks for my prompt action, stating that it was essential for safeguarding not only my own health but also that of the community and the NHS. Honestly, what on earth is happening in the world these days? 😟

I received a phone call from a chap who clearly had some details about me, including my name and specific dates. He inquired about my wellbeing, to which I mentioned that I'd previously been contacted by Test and Trace. His response was that I could expect calls from them around twice daily since I’ve tested positive. It felt rather scripted, to be honest. When I asked him if I should go back to work on the last day of isolation or the day after, he gave me an answer but seemed quite keen to end the conversation quickly. They informed me that the number I was called from wasn’t associated with them at all. It sounded more like a cold calling or telesales operation, and they advised me to block it immediately. Occasionally, though, it comes up as this internal number or with our extension added on at the end. If you’re unsure, just ask the person calling to hang up and ring back straight away; this normally sorts the problem. Please be kind to anyone calling from this number - it’s just a technical bug and they’re not responsible for it!
