4 yearsHad a chap named 'Edward' ring us up, asserting he was from British Gas and promising to offer us a more favourable contract deal. He was rather pushy and quite insistent, I must say. Afterward, I decided to verify the number with our actual British Gas representatives, and they assured me it was definitely a bogus call.EdwardBritish Gas4 yearsI've received numerous calls from someone purporting to be from Barclays Bank, and it's always the same chap. His behaviour has recently escalated to being quite offensive, resorting to foul language and calling our female staff derogatory names. He simply won't accept a rejection, and no sooner do we hang up than he’s back on the line. It's turning into quite the ordeal!Barclays Bank4 yearsI keep receiving calls from this number, but as soon as I pick up, the line goes dead. Quite frustrating, really!4 yearsThis morning, I received a rather suspect phone call from a woman, who spoke with an Asian accent and claimed to be called Shirley. She identified herself as part of Barclays Customer Support, specifically in the card servicing department. She insisted that I verify my identity by divulging some personal details. Clearly a phishing attempt if ever I saw one!ShirleyBarclays Customer Support4 yearsI received a call from a lady with an Asian accent claiming to be from Barclays Card Services. She was asking for our details to verify our identity. I thought to myself, hang on a minute, you're the one who dialed our number! If you truly represent Barclays, surely you have all our information already. What a laugh - clearly just another bunch of fraudsters trying their luck!Barclays Card ServicesBarclays4 yearsI've received multiple calls from this number, and each time there's a lot of background racket. Strangely, no one ever says anything before they hang up. I've heard that 0204 numbers aren't even valid. Quite peculiar, isn't it?4 yearsI received a phone call from someone demanding to talk to an individual who doesn't actually work at our place regarding the card machine. They claimed to represent Barclays, but their manner was utterly appalling. They practically yelled at me, insisting that it was my responsibility to transfer the call-which it isn't-and then went on to berate me, questioning my grasp of the English language. This individual insisted on knowing my name, yet refused to disclose their own. In the end, I simply hung up. Since then, they've tried calling several times but have just let the line ring out without saying a word.4 yearsI had the unfortunate experience of a caller losing their temper with our receptionist, resorting to some rather rude language when she wouldn’t connect the call without additional details. It’s a shame such behaviour exists, and I’d personally welcome this individual to come by our office for a discussion with our team in the workshop. It’d be interesting to see how brave they are face to face!4 yearsI had a rather dubious call from someone claiming to represent 'the bank', but he was rather evasive at first about which institution it was (not exactly a great beginning). When I pressed for clarification, he eventually mentioned Barclays - funny, seeing as we don’t even bank with them! The chap's tone became quite confrontational, insisting it wasn’t my concern and that he had the details of the manager and required direct communication. I told him that was perfectly fine, but he'd need to provide the manager's name so I could transfer him appropriately. After a rather prolonged silence, he came up with 'Janet', at which point I informed him that we don’t have any staff by that name. He then accused me of wasting his time before abruptly disconnecting. What a feeble attempt at scamming!Janet4 yearsI recently received a rather alarming call from this number, claiming to represent Barclays Bank and wanting to speak to whoever oversees our card terminals and banking matters. I explained that we're a family-run business and have no interest in engaging with third parties. The caller then insisted, rather forcefully, "Are you in charge?" I reiterated our policy on third-party discussions, but he continued to yell, "ARE YOU IN CHARGE?" quite aggressively. This exchange repeated itself several times until I finally decided to end the conversation. To my dismay, he proceeded to ring me back four consecutive times right after, persistently harassing me. I opted to hang up on each occasion without further ado.Barclays Bank4 yearsExtremely impolite when we chose not to engage.Submit Your Own Report (020 4513 9093)
