Beware of scams! If you get contacted by a suspicious caller, make sure you report it straight to the police fraud website. Just search for ‘Action Fraud’ or visit ‘police.uk’. On their site, find the section for ‘reporting phishing attempts’ and carefully read what they say. Then you can submit all the scam info, including any links or website addresses you saw. You don’t need to sign up or give personal details unless you’ve actually lost money to the scam. The police rely on people reporting these dodgy calls and texts so they can keep track and hopefully stop them.

I've made a couple of posts explaining what you need to do if you're fed up with all these scam callers. It’s a bit of a hassle, but I’ve set it up and keep reporting dodgy calls and messages to the police database (I bookmarked the address for quick access). Sadly, it’s going to need loads of folks doing the same before any proper action is taken, but loads of people use this site daily to report scams. My MP did reply, which was a bit of a surprise, but honestly, it’s going to take a lot more than just one person raising the issue for something to really change.

So this middle-aged lady, who talked really proper, said she was some sort of energy consultant for my region. But when I asked her what exactly she advised on, she just suddenly ended the call.

Wasn't able to get the firm's name but the lady said it was some government thing. She was asking about insulating lofts and mentioned this new method where they spray foam on the underside of the roof instead of just spreading fibreglass on the loft floor. I told her no thanks and hung up.

Got a call at 10.59am but when i answered, all i heard was silence. I said hello just to check, then someone asked if they were speaking to me by name. As soon as I said yes, the call cut off. Later saw the missed call notification saying they can’t receive incoming calls. Feels like one of those scam or survey things. We’re definitely on the TPS list!

Some bloke rang saying he was a surveyor and claimed we were eligible for a government solar heating programme. When I started asking if it was legit, he just hung up on me.
