They mentioned they would be sending a security code from a genuine O2 number. What struck me was their cautioning me that if anyone requests that code over the phone, it could very well be a scam, and they advised me to end the call immediately. I decided to ask them to email me the code instead and promptly ended the conversation.3 yearsIt seems that O2 is making some dubious claims about offering me a discount. This marks the fifth time that I've received calls from various numbers, which has led me to suspect it's a scam. When I requested them to validate that they were indeed calling from O2, they mentioned they could either send a verification code from an official O2 line or give me the number for their helpdesk. I decided to ask them to confirm the amount of my last payment (which I already knew), so I could work out what my bill would be post-discount. They promptly ended the call instead.
