I received a call from an individual purporting to be from O2, trying to entice me with the prospect of early upgrades or more affordable SIM-only packages. The troubling part was that they couldn’t even confirm my name!

I gave them a ring back, but the message I received was a right muddle. It was about a phone upgrade, but I couldn't quite catch the provider’s name despite the speaker being a distinctly British woman with a clear accent. The next bit was to hold for an agent, but I opted out of that. As I'm with EE, they always state their name when they call, and thankfully, they've stopped the upgrade calls-likely due to the flood of scammers, I imagine! They used to reach out only when contracts were nearing their end. But with so many variables at play in this scam scene, I wish you luck deciphering it all! (Seems everyone's at it these days!)
