Got a call from someone claiming to be Alex Jordan from a claims dept, saying the bank owes me cash from like 20 years ago. Gave me some ref number and said another person would ring at five, but ended up calling me again ten mins later. When I asked how he knew my daughter works for the government, he got a bit sharp and insisted it wasn’t a scam and asked if I wanted my money back or not. I just said no and hung up.

Someone rang asking for Mr R, said his name was Victor Brown from some claims advisory group! Gave me this long reference number and said I'd get a call the next morning to sort out my details. The number that called while I was out was 02023447812. Later on, I found out it was all a scam.

Got a call from an Asian bloke who called himself Mike Spencer, claiming he’s with some Claims Advisory Dept. He said the bank owes me £4000 and that his boss would ring me tomorrow. After seeing what’s been posted here, I’m planning to give him a right earful before he can give me one. Honestly, how many Asians or Indians have such typically British names? None, if you ask me. I couldn’t even get the number he called from.

He already had my full name, address, and date of birth and asked where I'd bank a cheque that they said I'd be sent because of some overcharges on my account. He gave me a reference number and said someone would ring me again this afternoon. Honestly, feels like yet another PPI scam to me. BE CAREFUL!!

They called asking if I was the owner of the house, I told them no (even though I am). Then they kept saying I was just 14 and couldn’t make decisions. Suddenly, their tone changed and they wanted my mobile number. I said no way, my mum would be mad at me (pretending to be a kid). The caller said she doesn’t have to know. I asked where they were from, and they said London. I wondered how we could meet since I live quite far away. They said we could just text and send pictures. I had this annoying bloke call me loads of times too. Just like the person who commented 4 days ago. He buzzed me 4 times asking why I hung up on him, and I told him I could tell it was a scam. Got a call from an asian bloke who said his name was mark taylor, telling me i was due some money back from a bank coz of a previous charge. I asked him straight up to give me his real name and stop pretending. Then he started shouting and using bad words, so i gave him a piece of my mind back. After that, he just hung up. Total muppet!!

Then a second call came about three hours later like they said it would, it was from someone with an asian accent called Dave Miller or something. Got a call on my landline from this number - some bloke with an Asian accent claiming he was a high court solicitor working for the Ministry of Justice. He actually knew my full name and address, which was a bit creepy. Said I’m owed a refund from my bank for charges over the past decade. When he asked for my DOB, I didn’t give it. Then he went off calling me a “stupid f***ing lady.” I shot back, telling him he might think that but I’m not. Before I could say more, he just hung up. Got loads of calls like this from assorted numbers, but all sound pretty much the same. People with foreign accents, asking for my mum who passed away a couple years back. When I say she’s not here or ask them to remove me from their list, they just start swearing at me - proper nasty. Just got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming he was from the bank. He said they needed to reimburse me for some charges and wanted to send me a cheque. When he asked for my date of birth, I refused and asked him why he needed it. I told him if the bank was really refunding me, they’d send a letter. He then said the money was coming from the government, but I told him the government would contact me by letter too. He asked why the government would do that, and I said it’s proper procedure. After that, he told me I should just hang up, so I did because I knew straight away it was a SCAM. Don’t let anyone mess with you like that! Stay safe xx

I told the police about this number because they were using bad language. I found out it’s a pretty well-known number from central London. I also contacted my phone provider and got them to block it. Just a heads up, this number is thought to be connected to various scams.

I just got a call from someone called Victor claiming to be a solicitor at the Department of Justice! When I asked him to repeat, he insisted it was from Regent Street. I asked again just to be sure. Seemed like he was pretty stressed... suddenly he started shouting loads of swear words! Then for a couple of minutes he just kept going with the same kind of angry stuff... amazing! Meanwhile, I kept saying things like “aww, that’s lovely” and “oh bless you”. Not sure if that annoyed him or nah... Afterwards, he handed me over to a bloke called Mark whose swearing was toned down a bit, then he told me I was just wasting his time. Funny, I thought it was him wasting mine by ringing! Proper laugh that was!

Yesterday, my mum got a phone call from someone claiming she was due some money. The caller said his name was Brian Arris and mentioned a reference number, AW258, which she wrote down. Then, later on, another man with a foreign accent rang back saying he was checking the first call and asked where she banked and also for her birth date. Sadly, she gave that information but didn’t share her bank account details. They also asked if she was disabled or had trouble walking, but she said she was fine. They told her they'd be in touch again in a few days. After she told me about all this, I told her it was probably a scam, but now she’s worried they might show up at her house.

Just got a Silent Call from 02043095294 around 12:56 this afternoon. Saying you’re on the TPS doesn’t seem to do much - only proper companies stick to it. Whenever these lot ring from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, or the Philippines, I try to have a bit of fun with them. Wasn’t too bothered when they started with abusive language, to be honest. I’ve told them to piss off more than once. One tip for everyone - if you get a call asking for Lifestyle Surveys, just hang up. If you play along, you’ll just end up with loads more unwanted calls from other firms backing those surveys.

This morning at 9:14, I got a call from a bloke with a foreign accent, one of those usual scams about me supposedly being overpaid and that they’re sending me a cheque! Then they wanted me to verify my address. Here’s how it went down, forgive me but I want to be precise. Me: "No idea who you are." Him: "Who the hell do you think you are, you f***ing cow?" Me: "What a bloody wanker." Him: "Why don’t you just go f*** yourself?" I really think the police should be able to track down people this abusive and do something to stop it happening again.

This number keeps ringing me up like 5 or 6 times daily. When I answer, there's just heavy breathing and then the line goes dead, no words at all. They begin calling early, around 8 in the morning, and stop by 9 at night. Just a heads up, since it’s your phone, you can curse or say whatever you like.
