Got a call with a recorded voice claiming to be from BT, saying my internet was about to be cut off immediately. The message asked me to press 1 to talk to tech support or 2 to carry on with the cancellation. I quickly realised it was some sort of scam trying to get into my PC, so I didn’t press anything. The call dropped after a few seconds. BT would never contact you like that, nor would they say anything about cutting your internet without properly notifying you beforehand. And definitely, they always call from an 0800 number, not some random one.
