Steer clear of returning their calls, even if they leave a message threatening repercussions for not responding. Take my word for it, it's best to ignore them entirely!

I received a rather alarming call on my mobile, allegedly from HMRC, claiming that I had some discrepancies with my taxes. They insisted I return the call or have my solicitor do so immediately, warning of impending legal action. Oddly enough, there was no voicemail left, so I couldn’t grasp the full context of the message. I'm left wondering why HMRC would reach out to me directly via phone, seeing as they're usually much more formal, sending letters outlining any tax matters or concerns. It’s all rather puzzling, isn’t it?

I received a call from this number that I missed, and they left a rather robotic voicemail claiming to be from HM Revenue & Customs, insisting that I shouldn't disregard the message... you know how it goes. It all gives off a major scam vibe, if you ask me.
