Received a recorded message claiming to be from HMRC, urging me to return the call or have my lawyer do so, threatening repercussions. It certainly smells like a scam!

Received a similar call myself. It was a robotic voice with an American twang, definitely a scam! (I've never had any interactions like that with HMRC before.)

An outfit posing as HM Revenue and Customs in London has got rather brazen, warning you in an exaggerated American accent that failure to ring them on this number could lead to severe repercussions. Whatever you do, steer clear of calling them back - it’s a total con! I've already flagged this to HMRC.

I felt quite uneasy too, as the message had a rather menacing tone. Instead of returning the call, I decided to check this site first! I'm really pleased I did.

I received a rather alarming call claiming to be from HM Revenue and Customs in London, and the person on the other end was speaking in a thick American accent. They were insisting that I must ring them back on this number or face severe repercussions. It genuinely gave me a fright initially! I'm really relieved I stumbled across this site to check it out. Many thanks!

Claiming to be HMRC, but it’s clearly just a bunch of crooks out for a quick buck. Absolutely pitiful!

Without a doubt, it’s a scam! They’re posing as HMRC, but it’s obvious they’re not the real deal.

Apparently, it’s HMRC on the other end, but I could swear the voice had a distinctly American twang to it! Quite curious, don’t you think?

Just received yet another ridiculous automated phone call claiming to be from HMRC. Honestly, what's the point? It’s hard to fathom why they even attempt these scams.

Extremely concerning, this is definitely not how HMRC typically reaches out. While it might leave some folks feeling anxious about the situation, it’s best to steer clear of returning the call!!!

Someone's been masquerading as HMRC, which seems quite dodgy! It's alarming how people attempt to impersonate official organisations. Keep your wits about you and don't get caught out!

I phoned this number back without actually hearing the voicemail first, and it turned out to be a blatant scam. I'm not entirely sure if the line even rang - I suppose it didn't. Should I be worried about it? I tried calling for about ten seconds, and when there was no response, I just gave up and ended the call.

I find myself in the same situation - it's baffling how they manage to dodge accountability for this sort of behaviour.

I had a similar experience; they just sent me a voicemail warning me to be cautious! It's clearly nothing more than a dodgy scam.

Received a call from HMRC, but the voice on the other end was a mechanical American accent. It gave off strong vibes of a potential scam, to be honest.

I've been receiving the same calls as well. Is there anyone who could get in touch with HMRC or the police to report this? I'm unable to make a call at the moment due to lack of credit, unfortunately.

Claiming to represent HMRC, but definitely not the real deal. This is textbook scamming behaviour: they create an illusion of urgency, don't even bother to use your name, and try to scare you with dire warnings. Just a reminder - HMRC always reaches out through proper letters and addresses you personally. Best to disregard this and do not engage with them.

My mother rang back, quite flustered, and we managed to chat with them! Should we be concerned that she divulged his complete name and address? What options do we have? Is there any action we should take?!

I've received a similar call not too long ago. Please, whatever you do, steer clear of sharing any personal information. It's an absolute con, claiming to be from HMRC and threatening a criminal record. Just rubbish!

I just received a phone call from this number, and a chap with an Asian accent claiming to be William Sanchez was on the line. I rang him back to tell him not to bother me again, and when I asked why he was calling, his response was, "I need money." Honestly, I'm absolutely livid!

I received a rather suspicious automated call from this number, purporting to be from HMRC, demanding that I get in touch or deal with potential legal ramifications. Let’s be honest, HMRC has everyone's address on file; if there were any issues, they would simply send a letter through the post. This feels like a classic scam to me, and I reckon it should be flagged for the threatening nature of the message.
