Had a call from a bloke saying he was Edwards Miles, claiming to be ringing on behalf of Monica Todd at HMRC. He warned me I’m about to get arrested, lose my flat and motor, unless I cough up £4,790 straight away. Otherwise, he said I’d face a court charge for nearly £19,000 because of unpaid PAYE and that I should’ve been keeping an eye on my tax stuff. He even wanted my solicitor’s contact info. These scammers are proper nasty!

My 94 year old mum answered this call when I wasn’t around. It’s shocking this number hasn’t been taken off the line yet. To me, it’s obviously some sort of scam, but I worry older folks might fall for it. The person on the other end had a sketchy Asian accent and sounded really dodgy.
