Like what others have mentioned, this is definitely one of those scams where they try to swap your sim or trick you into giving contract info.

This number rang me and some woman with an Indian accent said my Three SIM card was about to be deactivated within two days and that they’d send me a new one. She asked for my email and then asked me to do some other stuff. I said no thanks, I’ll sort it out online myself, and then she kept saying she’d ring me back later before hanging up. There was loads of background noise too, which was pretty sketchy.

I didn’t answer right away, just listened to the noise in the background. It sounded like the person was somewhere busy, maybe a kitchen with a few people around. After a moment, a woman with a really strong Indian accent said hello and said she was Emma from EE. She asked how I was doing, and I said I was fine but asked why she was ringing. She told me my EE sim was about to get disconnected in 48 hours. I told her that wasn’t true and it sounded like a common scam. She just said "it would be" then told me to buzz off and hung up.
