This number rang my home phone on Saturday morning around 10.48am. The person on the other end claimed it was a follow up about AA matters and used the right name. They seemed aware of a recent claim for my mother-in-law. I told them the person they wanted wasn’t there, and when asked, I said they’d be back on Monday after 9am. After that, I went ahead and blocked the number. The DWP AA don’t operate on Saturdays and always use an 0800 number anyway.

Got a call around 6pm on a Saturday from someone claiming to be IAWF or something like that. She said I should’ve been informed earlier. I just told her to bugger off.

Sounds like a total scam to me, voice was all old-fashioned trying to seem legit. Who even calls at 8:40 in the evening?? Strange as hell!

Someone pretending to be from DWP RESEARCH called me. They knew I was handling things for my elderly mum. Wanted to ask loads of questions but I couldn’t understand a thing she was saying, sounded like she was just reading from a script. I was completely baffled. I told her again I don’t know why she was ringing or where she got my info from. When I asked her name, she said Zara, so I asked for her surname and then she just hung up. That was my proof - a definite SCAM. Loud and clear.

They asked who I was, claimed to be from PIP, then suddenly apologised and said they didn’t need to speak to me today?
