Oh no, I fell for this one too :( I ended up ringing the number back before realising something was off. After a quick Google search, I found these warnings. When the bloke asked for info and I told him what I’d read, he totally lost it and started shouting about me ‘wasting HIS time’. Then he went on to call me some proper nasty names, and honestly, I just ended up laughing at him...

Complete con - some bloke said he was calling from HMRC. I asked him, "By law, GDPR, how did you get my new mobile number? I’ve never given it out anywhere." He just cut me off. Then they called me back but a different person answered. When they said they were from HMRC, I told them I actually work there myself, and they ended the call right away. Bit suspicious if you ask me!
