2 yearsSOMEONE PRETENDING TO BE FROM VIRGIN CALLED, CLAIMING MY SIM WAS ABOUT TO EXPIRE BECAUSE OF THE O2 MERGER. THEY ASKED FOR ALL MY INFO, WHICH I DIDN’T GIVE, THEN I HUNG UP AND RANG O2 TO CHECK. O2 CONFIRMED MY SIM WAS FINE WITH NO ISSUES. THE SCAMMER RANG BACK LATER TRYING THE SAME THING. WHEN I TOLD THEM I’D SPOKEN TO O2 AND THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS, THEY SAID IT WAS A TECHNICAL GLITCH. I ENDED THE CALL STRAIGHT AWAY. TOTAL SCAM, SO BE CAREFUL AS THEY USE DIFFERENT NUMBERS TOO.VIRGIN2 yearsI nearly got duped by this number. They claimed they wanted to buy an iPhone and gave me an address in Dagenham to send it off. Luckily, I caught on it was a con and didn’t send the phone. I’ve reported it to the police and O2’s fraud team.Dagenham2 yearsGot calls from this number and another one 02081299035 over the past few days - probably the same lot! I said no thanks nicely, told them I don’t sort out phone contracts over the phone.O22 yearsSomeone said they were from o2 and wanted my email to confirm who I was. I asked them to prove they were really from o2, but they wouldn’t, so I asked to talk to a manager for some proof. They wouldn’t do that either unless I gave my email, then just ended the call. Looks like they managed to reset my password while I was talking to them on the phone about my account.
