Someone rang claiming to be with the Halifax Fraud Squad, saying some money had been taken from my account. I was quite suspicious and told them straight away, but they kept insisting they were legit. When they asked for my card details, I cut the call off right away. After that, I called Halifax directly, and they confirmed nobody from their Fraud Squad had been in touch and that my account was fine. The person I spoke to praised me for hanging up and checking with the bank instead of risking being conned. This was without a doubt a scam, so just be careful out there.
