Definitely a SCAM CALL, Virgin Media checked for me! BE CAREFUL! I found it quite amusing because just before they called, my internet cut out for a bit and then my phone did too. I’LL SAY IT AGAIN, that number is a confirmed scam according to Virgin Media.

Definitely a big call centre behind this. I rang the number back but didn’t leave my number, and it went straight to a really busy-sounding call centre. No one picked up even though I asked to speak to someone. Couldn't quite make out the background noise but it sounded like they were saying something like “I’m calling from...” We’ve been getting quite a few calls from numbers like this lately. I’m well and truly fed up with the constant bothering.

I've been receiving calls from the number 02039714741 every evening for the past ten nights or so, around half six. So, I got a call from someone saying they were Virgin Media (which I dont even have). They claimed my modem was causing issues and wanted me to link to some security server. I told them I dont own a laptop, desktop or ipad and just wanted a new modem if mine's got security flaws. They said they couldnt send a replacement until they connect to my phone through Anydesk (which I’d have to download from google playstore) and figure out the problem. Gets a bit annoying when they start losing their temper and shout "WHY ARE YOU NOT LISTENING TO ME?". Still, it kinda kills 15 minutes of my day.

Someone rang saying they were from Virgin Media, saying my router was sending error messages to their system. They wanted me to open remote desktop on my computer but stopped when they found out I use a Mac. Then they asked me to open Google Chrome and go to the Remote Desktop site. I got fed up and asked which department of Virgin Media they were from and for a reference number. They couldn’t answer and went quiet, then just said they work for Virgin Media. I asked if they were trying to scam me, still no reply, and then they just hung up.

It's the same old trick, a bloke with an Indian accent saying he's from Virgin Media, telling me my internet’s slow, which is total rubbish. I work in IT as a systems analyst, so I just hung up straight away. It’s really easy to tell - the line sounds terrible, probably some VPN and VoIP mix trying to make it look like it’s coming from the UK. Got a call from 02039714741 earlier today, claiming they were from Virgin Media saying my internet is slow and I'm being charged for a faster speed. Didn’t sound right at all since my broadband’s working perfectly. If I had any issues, I’d just call Virgin Media myself. So I just told them all was fine and hung up. Seems like a scam to me - next thing they’d want is access to my laptop or something.

Someone called saying they was from Virgin Media, said there was a problem with my router and asked if I had a "MAJOR TECHNICAL DEVICE or something. When I asked a few easy questions about my account with Virgin Media, they started making up all sorts of rubbish. Total scam, watch out!

Got a call from a woman who sounded like she was working in some call centre in India. She said she was from Virgin Media and wanted to fix issues with my router. This number belongs to a fraudster. They often employ some sort of pre-recorded office chatter to give the illusion of being part of a bustling call centre. I seem to get a call from them nearly every month, always attempting to con me in some way. Whatever you do, don’t share any personal information with them. There was one incident where they tried to secretly access my computer remotely. Just stay vigilant!

Some bloke said he was Raja from Virgin Media, claiming there was something wrong with my router detected on their servers. I told him I was busy and to just arrange for an engineer to come out. He kept going on and on, so I just hung up. When I tried to report it to VM, the person answering seemed more focused on getting my password than listening or proving if the call was legit. I’ve always found Virgin Media’s engineers and tech help great, but their call centres? Not so much!

Beware of con artists fishing for your banking information, posing as Virgin Media representatives from India. As soon as I called them out for their deceit and asked for proof of their affiliation with Virgin Media, they promptly ended the call. Quite revealing, wouldn’t you say?

My landline buzzed with this number yesterday and once again today. I usually keep my answerphone on, just in case it’s someone I know or something urgent, then I’ll pick up. But this time, as I didn’t know the number, I let the machine pick up. Oddly enough, no message was left. If they call again tomorrow, I’m thinking of messing around a bit and seeing where it goes.
