This number phoned me at 12:27 earlier. I have a call guardian service that screens all my calls, so nothing gets through easily. They didn’t even try to leave a message or say who they were - the phone didn’t even ring properly. Going to block this number now. I’m registered with TPS but it seems to make no difference at all.

Got a call from this number yesterday evening, some American woman who sounded really polite, saying she wanted to assist with our phone service. Since we use BT, I knew straight away it was dodgy. She started asking for info that BT would already know and definitely wouldn’t need like that to fix a line problem. Felt like she was gearing up to get my bank info, so I just ended the call. This happened just after 6 pm GMT on 4th January 2021.

On 12th March 2020 I got a call with really bad reception, sounded like it was from abroad and a scam. The guy claimed he had a cheaper phone deal, but I told him I was already tied into a contract and it was too pricey anyway. I think he mentioned something about Sparta or a similar name. It all seemed dodgy, especially when he started asking for my bank details - total scam.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from Ofcom, said he could give me a deal cutting my bills by half or more. Asked to talk to the account holder and seemed clueless about who my provider was. The guy, who sounded Asian and called himself Bob, I called him out right away as a scammer and just ended the call.

Saw my phone light up showing a call came through, but my answerphone didn’t flash at all, so no message was left. That’s how I dodge those annoying sales calls - if there’s no message, I just ignore it. Decided to look up the number here and wasn’t shocked it was silent on the answerphone. My outgoing message clearly says I won’t pick up the landline unless they leave a message, and to call my mobile instead, which only my friends and people I trust have. Works brilliantly for me to keep cold callers away.

Got a call from a lady who said her name was Mary, sounded Asian, claiming she was ringing on behalf of Sparta Telecom. She started trying to quiz me about my phone provider and pricing, but I didn’t bite. Felt really dodgy, if you ask me! Seems like this number has been linked to loads of different companies before.

They kept ringing me while I was out, must be some massive tax bill they reckon I owe! I'm older now but not daft when it comes to scams. I watch loads of scam baiting videos on YouTube to stay sharp. Proper thankful for websites like this and the folks who share warnings about these dodgy calls.
