I got a call from this number and they left a voicemail saying it was from Lloyd’s, asking me to press a button about some fraud attempt. Folks, I had already been warned by Lloyd’s via text to not pick up or call back, but to check my app instead. Turns out, there was a dodgy £50 transaction tried on my Amazon account. Thankfully, my bank spotted it and froze my card straight away.

Some bloke rang claiming to be from my network, but I’m on Giffgaff and signed up with the TPS. Told him I was going to report the call and he started babbling on saying he didn’t need any info from me. Giffgaff don’t even have a call centre, and if anything was changing they’d have sent a text or an email. Pretty clear that was a scam. Didn’t let me get a word in all the time. Looks like loads of these calls going round today.

Sometimes I just ignore the calls, other times I pick up and either chuckle, speak in French, or stay quiet. They keep ringing anyway, but I’ve put the number on my block list for now.

Got calls from someone saying they were from O2, rang me about 4 times which was pretty pushy. They said they needed to send me a new SIM card. When I asked for more details since I’m away on holiday, they transferred me to a “manager”. The bloke said he could register the SIM but kept asking for my email, even though I told him all my details were already with them. Then he just said he was ending the call, which felt really dodgy. Totally a scam in my book.

Just got a missed call from this number while I was tied up at a meeting yesterday afternoon, couldn’t pick up. They didn’t leave any voicemail. After checking out what others have said about this number, I’m pretty convinced it’s a scam. I’ve had calls from plenty of numbers like this before, and a few times I naively answered, which I regret now. I’ve blocked this one too, but I’m sure these scammers will just ring from different numbers next time.

I got a call saying my SIM was deactivated, so I threw out a bogus email just to mess about and see how they'd react. The bloke on the other end got really mad over the fake email and ended up swearing at me in Urdu :(

Got a call about my sim being disconnected in a week. The caller had that typical Indian accent, obviously a scam. Told them I'm actually flying out tomorrow, so no deal. Tried blocking the number but they just ring from a different one. Honestly, these calls should be illegal.

Got a call recently from someone claiming to be with 02, saying my Virgin mobile number was about to be disconnected since it’s old or something. They asked if I’m the account owner - I said no just to mess around. They said they'd ring back later, but that never happened. Instead, they’ve called me 3 times in the last 30 minutes. Had a quick search online and it turns out they’re scammers. The caller sounded Indian too.

Today, I had a rather dodgy encounter as someone attempted to con me and even went so far as to alter my O2 username! I've alerted O2’s Fraud team, and in the meantime, my account has been put on hold while they look into the matter. Quite the ordeal, I must say!

What worries me is how these scammers got my name linked with my phone number in the first place. It makes it really easy for them to trick people into sharing private info. Just like some others have said, this person said they were from O2 or Virgin Media, trying that old "SIM upgrade" trick on me. They couldn’t properly answer any of my safety questions, which made it obvious they were dodgy. It’s so easy to spot the flaws in callers like this if you ask the right stuff. It’s really upsetting that plenty of folk still get caught out by this nonsense, making it a profitable but nasty scheme. Marked this as Dangerous because if you’re not careful, it could cause serious financial loss and trouble, leading to stress or even worse.

Just got a call from this number. The person claimed to be from O2 and said they had to send me a new SIM due to their merger with Virgin, saying all customers needed one. I nearly believed them at first, but then they asked for the email linked to my account. I told them they should already have it, but they insisted I spell it out so they could double-check it. That’s when I decided to hang up straight away.
