Blimey, I was out for most of the afternoon and came back to a voicemail that was more than 4 minutes long! The message had loads of questions one after another, pausing briefly as if waiting for replies before moving on. But it was obviously just talking to my answerphone! Anyway, whoever left it seemed convinced I need some kind of care service with a dongle costing £39.99 a month, roughly a quid a day. Actually, that works out closer to £1.32 daily. How do they even figure that out? BLOCKED for sure!

This app is really useful. Usually we ignore calls since hospital appointments often come from hidden numbers. But most times, no one leaves a message anyway. So, we look it up on Whocalledme and sure enough, it's just ANOTHER annoying call. The one we just checked has rung 4702 times - fingers crossed it’s keeping someone employed!

Received a call from some guy claiming to be Matt, supposedly from London, chatting about loft insulation grants or something. When I asked him to spell out the company’s name so I could report it properly, he just kept going with his nonsense. Then I pointed out that this number’s on the TPS list and he just dropped the call. Typical scam artists for sure, but folks looking after elderly or vulnerable family members should definitely stay on their guard.

Got a call from someone called Alex claiming to be from the Insulation Advisory Line - turns out that company isn’t real. Said they were out of Oxford but the number was London-based. They pretended to work with Government insulation schemes. When I called them out on it, they just hung up. Definitely a scam. Make sure you report these calls to the ICO on their website, noting down when you get the calls. The more people do it, the better chance we’ve got of getting them shut down and fined properly.

Got a call from Alex but missed the start of the voicemail. When I rang back to ask which firm he was representing, the line just cut off. Same as others have said, he was banging on about loft insulation, but we sorted that ages ago. Blocked the number and reported it here.

Spoke quite well, seemed legit at the start, talking about energy consumption. He asked if I owned the house then said he knew I had fibreglass or rockwall insulation. When I told him I didn’t, he just hung up on me without saying anything.

He started by saying he needed to speak to the homeowner, but never actually asked for my name or even confirmed if I was the owner (not that I would’ve told him). Then he went on about some insulation check for fibreglass or rockwool that their energy company was supposedly doing. I told him to shove it and hung up, no messing about!

I've noticed that these sorts of calls tend to follow a pattern, often coming on the heels of a ring from 01865679005, either earlier that same day or perhaps the day prior. Quite the coincidence, don’t you think?
