Got a voicemail recently, the previous one was just dead silence but this time it was a guy with an Asian accent chatting to someone else on the line. I just completed a training this morning about cyber attacks and one example was someone calling to get you to visit a certain website. This caller did exactly that, it’s obviously a hacking attempt trying to plant malware on your device or steal important info to use against you. Best thing to do is just hang up on them. I’m sending the number to our Corporate security team, hopefully they’ll stop these scams for good.

@ 6 & 12 March updates I raised a complaint with the DWP about IFF Research. To be fair, IFF said sorry for not respecting my opt-out and promised to review their process and make sure all my personal details were removed. Still, I reckon the DWP ought to provide an opt-out option before sharing info with market research firms.

I received a call earlier from someone claiming to be with WDP. They had all my personal details, including my full name, and were inquiring about whether I was planning to attend any more courses. Mid-conversation, they just hung up on me. I decided to look into the number and discovered it’s part of a scam. It’s infuriating how they managed to get hold of my information. Honestly, it leaves me feeling really annoyed about being conned like this.

Just to follow up on my comment from 6/3/19. Got another call today even after emailing IFF Research asking them to cease contact. I've lodged an official complaint with the Market Research Society, since they're members there. Also sent a letter straight to the MD. If you’re sure it’s the same company, I’d say report it too, these calls without our consent really need to end. Cheers.

Got a random call about 8.20 tonight, which is pretty much the usual for me. The woman said her name, and seemed like she kinda knew mine too. Honestly, I couldn’t quite catch what she was saying - sounded like something about me being in a zone hit by a causeway or whatever. Wasn’t really in the mood to deal with it, so I just told her I wasn’t up for it.

About a fortnight ago, I got a letter from IFF Research saying they were doing a study for the DWP and would ring me soon unless I said no. I emailed them back to refuse. Then last night at 8:52pm this number gave me a call, which I didn’t pick up. I've just sent them another email complaining that I’m unhappy the DWP shared my info with them and that they ignored my opt-out.

I had a rather dubious phone call from a chap who insisted he was conducting research on training for animal welfare. Now, considering we run a dog grooming business, I found this a bit odd. It reeked of a scam from the outset, especially with his rather flamboyant, upper-crust accent! To top it off, he rang our home line instead of the shop number, which was another clear red flag.

I received a call from a chap who sounded rather well-spoken, claiming to represent HMRC and conducting some sort of survey. Oddly enough, I noticed my voice echoing back at me which set off alarm bells in my mind-usually a sign of an international line. When I probed him about his location, he said he was based in London but was working from home today, which struck me as a bit peculiar. I told him I was rather preoccupied at the moment and couldn’t chat. If he rings back, I’ll be sure to request his HMRC office details, his full name, and his position so I can verify him independently before I let the conversation continue!

This number has rung me a couple times asking for a Senior Staff member, saying they're from the Ministry of Defence. We’ve never dealt with the Ministry of Defence at all. I looked at both websites while she was on the phone and the number she called from wasn’t on either site. I told her I wasn't interested in her survey and she told me I’d get reported to Companies House!!! What a load of rubbish. BLOCKED!!!

Got a call from some bloke called Andrew Wakelin saying he was from the Dept. of Education, wanting feedback on an apprenticeship programme that someone working for us might have done last year. When I asked for the employee’s name, he said he couldn’t say because of the data protection act. Felt dodgy straight away so told him I wasn’t interested and hung up. The phone rang again with the same exact script. Told him to take us off their list and ended the call again.

The lady was really polite and friendly, just asking straightforward questions. I used to do outbound calls at a call centre, so I enjoyed having a wee chat with her for around 15 minutes, felt good to give her a breather from all the rubbish some call centre folks get hurled at them.
