I picked up the call, greeted the caller, but was met with silence. After waiting a moment, I decided to end the call.

Dodgy scammers! I reckon one ought to give them a ring from a payphone in the wee hours and then just hang up. If it’s a game they want, let’s show them we can play, too!

Some bloke from India rang up pretending to work for Microsoft, warning me my PC was involved in dodgy stuff and that I'd get in trouble. I decided to humour him by pretending to buy into his rubbish tech talk, without letting on I used to work in IT security - just to drag the call out and waste his time. After a while, I let him know I’d caught on and even said I’d logged his IP address, saying it’d be him facing prosecution. He kept going for a bit but I wasn’t having it. I’ve also made sure to report the number to the company that issued it.

Well, would you believe it? I received a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft at the crack of dawn - a quarter past six to be precise! Quite a laugh, isn’t it? It’s painfully clear that the individuals behind this number are in no way affiliated with the tech giant and are merely shady scammers. It’s truly disheartening to see the lengths some folks will go to in pursuit of a dishonest wage.

I tried to pick up but no luck. When I rang back, all I got was some rubbish automated message saying it was the "online appliance centre". Total waste of time.

I got a call from someone saying they were from Microsoft, trying to check info about my computer and my home address. I told them I don’t own a PC and the address they mentioned wasn’t mine. After that, they just hung up. Pretty sure it wasn’t really Microsoft calling me.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Microsoft. They said they were aware I had a Microsoft account. I told them I don’t even own a computer, so how could they know that? They just hung up straight away.

This number keeps ringing me up, even had a call from them at 7.40 in the morning! When will someone actually sort this out?

Around half past seven this morning a call came through. The bloke said he was from Microsoft and wanted to speak with whoever owns the computer. My husband told him to buzz off since it was far too early and we’d just been woken up. When I asked the caller why he bothered at such silly times, he said this is how he makes his living. My husband then ended the call.

I've noticed this happening worldwide where folks from other countries pretend to be locals, often for political reasons. It seems like a tactic to stir up trouble among the population.

Watch out for those sneaky snakes hiding around. Maybe we should try searching "Jim Browning youtube" - he's the bloke who outsmarts the scammers by hacking them back.

Someone called claiming to be from Microsoft and asked for my husband's number so he could verify the caller’s location. They gave me an 0344 number but said they had already emailed me from Microsoft, which I never got. I told him I suspected it was a scam and said I’d report him. The guy had an American accent and was quite pushy. When I ended the call, he rang back straight away and repeated the same thing. Then suddenly he blew a whistle at me before hanging up. I reckon this is pretty risky stuff - everyone stay cautious!
