Got a call from a bloke pretending to be HMRC, totally a scam. It was a recorded message, no way I'll answer again. Blocked the number straight away.

So today I got a call from a woman using the number 02036379257, saying she was from HMRC and that I supposedly have some kind of debt against me. She didn’t give her name, but told me I had to ring back immediately or they’d be sending officers to my workplace. Before that, a bloke calling himself Stephen White (yeah, right!) also called, claiming the same thing. I’ve just been letting their calls go to voicemail instead of picking up. Honestly, these kinds of scams are so cruel, especially for older folks who might get truly fooled by this sort of thing.

Nearly gave me a heart attack, honestly. So relieved I stumbled upon this discussion here.

Got a call from someone saying they were Officer Stephen White. Definitely a scam! They wanted me to pay nearly £1900 for some tax fees. I blocked the number and reported it to HMRC. If you get a call like this, do the same so they can stop these fraudsters.

Somebody rang pretending to be a police officer, saying there’s a lawsuit against me. It sounded really dodgy, not sure what they wanted.
