Pretty clear it’s a scam. Got a call from someone in an Indian call centre pretending to be Tesco Mobile, telling me I had to renew my Tesco SIM or my phone would stop working by tomorrow. The funny part is, I’m not even with Tesco at all.

Got a call from a woman speaking with a heavy Indian accent, saying my “Tesco” sim card (even though I’m actually with O2) needed upgrading to 5G. I asked her which country she was ringing from and she just ended the call straight away :)

I got a call from a London landline, but the lady had a really thick South Asian accent. She said something about my “Tesco Mobile SIM that’s active on this number.” I was a bit puzzled, so I replied, “Oh yeah? What’s the matter with it?” and she just ended the call straight away. Funny thing is, I used to have Tesco Mobile on this number ages ago, but switched over to Asda Mobile a while back.

I picked up the phone and the woman on the other end said she was from Tesco’s at first. I asked her again where she was calling from as I wasn’t sure, she paused forever before saying something about Gamma Telecoms being my phone company or something. I told her, “Wait, are you calling from Tesco’s or a phone provider?” but she just stayed silent. So, I ended the call. I wouldn’t bother with these calls again - blocked the number now.

I got a call from someone claiming to be Tesco, but I knew it was dodgy straight away. As soon as I said “this is a scam, isn’t it?”, they just cut me off. I rang them back and told them to quit wasting people’s time with their scams, and the person just went “oh, alright” before hanging up on me again. They end the call as soon as they see you’re not fooling around. Definitely a scam, no question about it. I’ve had a few calls from them over the past few days.

I got a call from someone saying they were with EE. When they asked me to confirm some info, I replied, "You called me, so you tell me instead." They said something about the details being hidden behind asterisks. I just told them, "Nah, I'll keep my info private. If you're really from EE, I’m not interested. And if you’re not, which I doubt you are, please just leave me alone."

They pretend to be from O2, so watch out and don’t hand over any of your details. After that, you can mess around with them a bit and waste their time for a laugh :D They speak super quick and have that 'Curry accent' you probably know what I mean :) Most of these scam calls usually have that same 'Indian curry accent'.

A woman with a strong foreign accent was speaking so fast. She rambled on about how O2 had merged with Virgin and that this was causing some tech problems. Apparently, my sim would stop working in two days, but they’d be sending me a new one and lowering my phone bill. While she was going on, I quickly looked it up and read back what was on ‘who called me’. Total scam, no doubt about it.

Got a call not long ago from someone saying they were with 02, telling me my SIM card would get blocked in a couple of days. Classic scam alert! The caller was a woman with an Indian accent who said her name was Hazel. When I asked where my replacement SIM was being sent, she said she’d tell me but couldn’t actually give me an address. Had a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying she was calling on behalf of O2. She told me my sim would be blocked in 3 days unless I switched to their new plan with a supposed 30% discount.
