Just received a call from some dodgy robot purporting to be from HMRC! I've blocked that particular number, but I’m certain another one will ring me soon enough. These con artists are relentless and truly difficult to get rid of!

I received a rather alarming message from what sounded like an American automated voice purporting to be HMRC. They insisted I give them a ring back promptly or I'd "face the repercussions"! Quite unnerving, I must say!

I got a call from an automated woman with an American accent saying she was from HMRC. She told me to ring back and warned not to ignore the call or lawyers would get involved. I thought it sounded dodgy from the start, and now after seeing other people's experiences, it’s clear it was just a scam.

Got a robo call claiming to be from HMRC warning me about some legal trouble and demanding I ring back straight away or else. So I looked up the number online and stumbled on this site. Total SCAM. Honestly, some folks are so vile they’d scam their own family without a second thought. SCAM ALERT. Stay clear, folks.

Some dodgy automated American accent claiming to be from HMRC called me, threatening all sorts if I didn’t pick up right away. Proper nasty con artists. I just hung up straight away and didn’t bother with it. The real folks I've dealt with at HMRC have always been courteous and ready to help, no hassle at all.

Is it just me, or does the HMRC automated voice sound distinctly American?

I answered this number pretty fast, but if I’d waited a bit longer my phone might’ve flagged it as spam. When I said hello a few times, all I got was some beeping, then a recorded voice with an American accent saying “goodbye” before hanging up. Pretty weird!

Got a voicemail from someone named Amanda Taylor claiming to be from HMRC. I got quite anxious since I’m already in talks with HMRC through a lawyer about a Trust Fund issue. I rang the number back, and an Indian man answered, asked my name, then told me not to interrupt while he read something out. Suddenly, he stopped, said excuse me, and then went silent. After I ended the call, I looked it up on here.

I rang them back and an Indian woman picked up saying she was from "HMRC". She asked me for my phone number, which I gave, then wanted my personal details. I told her she should already have those on file. She then said I should call back when I was ready to provide my info and promptly hung up on me.

Had the exact same thing happen to me. Got a weird robotic voicemail from someone claiming to be Amanda Taylor from HMRC, saying to ring them or your lawyer straight away. Don't fall for it! HMRC definitely wouldn’t contact you like that.

Has anyone else using EE been getting these calls? I’m asking cause a couple of my mates who also use EE got the same call today. Sounds a bit fishy, like maybe someone inside the company is behind it, not EE officially. Just wondering if it’s a coincidence or not.

Got a call from 02039584123 today, apparently the same number that buzzed me a few months back which I didn't pick up. No trouble then, but I reckon it might be a good idea to let HMRC know about it just in case it's some kind of scam. The caller said her name was Amanda Taylor, pretty much the same as last time.

I rang them back but they couldn’t verify my tax code, something definitely needs to be done about this. They should be shut down, and the police must get involved because tracking these people can’t be that difficult.

I just got a voicemail like that too, some American lady warning me that if I or my lawyer didn’t ring back, they’d start legal proceedings. Pretty threatening stuff!

Was in the middle of cooking when my phone rang just now! Had to pause and wash my hands before answering - should’ve just ignored it. A woman claiming to be from the tax office sounded really intimidating. I’d heard about these sorts of calls, especially how they finish with a “Goodbye” then strangely switch to a friendly phrase instead of a normal “Take care” or something like that.

Has anyone gotten a call from this number before? I'm not sure if it's legit and don’t want to call back just yet. They left a voicemail but couldn’t really understand what they said.
