What a total rip-off! Got a random call out of nowhere saying I’d ignored a letter about renewing my electricity contract. When I asked what company supposedly sent it, the guy stammered “ummm, NPower maybe?”. I’m definitely not with NPower! Once I challenged him on that, he just cut me off straight away. No effort to persuade me or anything. Come on, at least try a bit so I can mess with your dodgy scam. Hanging up so quickly is no fun at all!

Got a right rude bloke calling me from some dodgy place called Ecosave, sounded like he was trying way too hard to sound proper but kept stumbling over his own fancy talk towards the end. He kept going on about some letter I supposedly ignored, but I told him straight up I’ve got a year’s contract on my electric, no changing anytime soon. He hung up, then rang me again straight away. Fair play for persistence, but no thanks to their scammy spiel. Blocked him good!

Totally dodgy call. Some bloke claimed he was ringing from EcoSave electricity. He told me my contract had finished and I needed to confirm to keep getting their service. Got a call from this number earlier today, saying that our energy deal was coming to an end soon. The person on the line mentioned they’d already sent a letter but claimed they never got a response according to their system. I told them we hadn’t received any letter and told them to send another one, but I didn’t give out any personal details. After that, I checked our energy contract and it’s not ending anytime soon. When I heard all this, I looked up the number online and saw this site. I’ve also reported it to BT and they’re looking into it now.

Some bloke kept saying he was from OCTOPUS ENERGY, which is who I get my electricity from, and warned me my bills would go up by 40% if I didn’t renew the contract through him. I said I’d double-check with OCTOPUS first. Emailed them to ask, but never heard back!

When I asked if he was actually from Utilita, he said he was with "Ecosave" but working on behalf of Utilita. The whole thing sounded dodgy, especially since he expected me to agree straight away and sign up for a new contract then and there.

They call sayin they’re from your current provider and want your account info, but it’s a trick to get you to switch over. If you fall for it, you might end up paying early termination charges with your real company.
