Got a call from My Heritage on Easter Sunday! They claimed I was looking at upgrade options on their site. I told them it’s not really a choice, they basically shove you onto those upgrade pages if your account is on a lower tier. I checked my privacy settings later, and there’s no sign of my phone number anywhere, so this feels really shady. Also, there’s no way to opt out of phone marketing. So I’ve blocked their number and plan to a) stop adding to my family tree and b) delete my account once my subscription ends. Poor business like this just loses customers, simple as.

I WAS PLANNING TO UPGRADE MY HERITAGE A/C (HADN'T MUCH SPACE LEFT TO ADD FAMILY) WHEN MY PHONE RANG, SHOWING IT WAS FROM MY HERITAGE. GOT A BIT SKEPTICAL AND DECIDED TO NOT GO AHEAD, SO I BLOCKED THE NUMBER. TRIED CALLING THEIR 0800 LINE BUT IT WAS JUST TRAINING ON THE OTHER END!! SENT THEM AN EMAIL AND ALSO CANCELLED MY AUTO-SUBSCRIPTION. FOUND THE WHOLE THING FAIRLY ODD TO BE HONEST. NOW I'M REALLY WARY OF THEM, WHICH IS A PITY BECAUSE I ENJOYED STARTING MY FAMILY HISTORY. REALLY HOPE THEY GET BACK TO ME SO I FEEL CONFIDENT TO CARRY ON.

Some unknown number, so I just ignored it. Funny thing is, I saw the comments here and I actually checked out the My Heritage site earlier today too.

A bloke with an American accent rang me up after I signed up for My Heritage. He tried to get me to upgrade, saying he had a better offer than what I saw online. I told him I don’t share personal details over the phone. He said he could give me some phone numbers to prove who he was, but I said no thanks and asked him to send the details by post or email instead. He ended the call by wishing me a good day.

Heritage gave me a ring to see if I was interested in upgrading, but I said no since I’ve hit the limit on my site and don’t want to spend more. I told the caller this and he was really polite about it, just said okay and hoped I had a nice day.

I just noticed a missed call from this number right after checking the My Heritage website. I got an email saying my account was accessed from another computer, but I’d only just logged on myself after getting the email. I deleted it straight away. After seeing the comments here, I’m pretty sure it was some kind of scam. Glad I didn’t tap on any of the links.

02039546310 - Got a call from someone claiming to be 'MyHeritage' from Tel Aviv! They tried to sell me a cheaper deal. Sounds like a scam linked to the MyHeritage data leak.

Got a call from 02039546310 earlier today, the lady on the phone knew both my full name and my late dad’s name. She refused to tell me her own name and said she was ringing to assist with tracing my family history. When I asked where she was calling from, she said Tel Aviv.

These calls defo ain’t coming from London, they’re faking it. I got a call from North America once, I answered nice and told My Heritage to shove their sales spiel. Just now got one from India and I told 'em where to go, proper annoyed. My Heritage seem to be on some relentless worldwide sales push, using old customers' phone numbers to ring up outta the blue. It’s really dodgy. They’re only interested in taking your cash.

Got a call from 02039546310 claiming to be from Heritage. They tried to get me to set up a full account over the phone and said I was entitled to a discount. Felt really fishy so I didn’t give them any info. Seemed a bit dodgy to me.

Somebody called and asked for me by my name, sounded like a call centre. They got suspicious about my background just because I wanted to upgrade. My husband actually got the kit for me as a Christmas gift back in 2018. I really regret ever asking to find out about my family history. They keep sending emails all the time, which we just delete without even looking at them.

Not sure who it was, I picked up but no one said anything so I just ended the call. Looks like from other reviews it’s probably My Heritage, they seem quite pushy with their adverts.

Got a call about 6:15 on Sunday evening. I usually ignore unknown numbers, but I looked it up and it's from MyHeritage, a service I just signed up for. Already shelling out quite a bit for it, so no interest in spending more! If they keep pushing hard, I’ll have to block them.

Got a missed call earlier, and from what others are saying, it's MyHeritage. Funny thing is, they’d just gone ahead and renewed my subscription without asking, and it cost a fortune. I wasn’t having any of it, so I complained right away and asked for my money back - they actually refunded me pretty fast. Looks like they’re trying to reel me back in!

Just received a call moments before I decided to buy a DNA testing kit. They mentioned some figures on their site, but upon reviewing my account, it turns out they weren't accurate. To make matters more confusing, I haven’t had this number since 2017, so there’s absolutely no way they could’ve gotten it from me. They kept insisting that I could snag a fantastic deal on an online subscription and seemed to know I was browsing their packages. Quite peculiar if you ask me!

Got two calls from My Heritage within like 10 minutes. Some bloke called Jack rang and said he saw I was thinking about upgrading. I told him nah, I just searched and it accidentally took me to the upgrade page. He tried to offer me a 15% discount but I had no clue how much it was anyway. Told him I wasn’t interested. Bit odd they phone you outta nowhere (I never agreed to get calls) and seem to know exactly how many folks I got in my family tree. I’m deleting my account for sure. Sounds like their business isn’t too great. Ancestry never bother calling you up.

Odd thing, the phone never rings, it just goes straight to voicemail and it doesn’t even show up in my recent calls. Happened 3 times now and they haven’t left any message.

02039546310 Like others have said - yes, it’s My Heritage! I’ve dealt with them before and wouldn’t call them outright scammers. What they do do is use really pushy telemarketers who keep ringing non stop - but only after you’ve given them your details. It’s just part of living in today’s digital age, unfortunately. I learnt the hard way myself! These days, I don’t put my phone number on any enquiry forms. Easier to just bin the emails than get pestered by constant calls.

Got two calls from this number today, but we usually ignore calls from numbers we don’t recognise cause of all the spam calls we get. They never bother to leave a voicemail either.

Reading through the comments it sounds like its My Heritage doing the calling. I totally agree, they shouldnt be ringing people who already have their service. I dont want any upgrades and probably never will. Honestly, they just push people away with this kind of approach. Im seriously thinking of ending my membership with them.

This number came up when my voicemail picked up. Apparently, it’s linked to My Heritage. I actually use My Heritage and have been browsing their site recently. If they were trying to get in touch, why wouldn’t they leave a message? It’s really poor, not professional at all.

I had a MyHeritage subscription which I cancelled after one year. Today I got an email and when I opened it, I was soon phoned up. I originally cancelled after being talked into upgrading for a bit more money, but instead of charging the extra they took a full additional year from my bank, so I ended up paying twice for the same year. Feels like a complete scam, they’re proper con artists.

They said they were from MyHeritage and mentioned I'd looked at their upgrade options on their site. They offered a reduced price for the first year's subscription and also made it clear that VAT would be added to the discounted price. I didn't go through with it right away but did agree to have them ring me back on an arranged day while I thought it over.

I received a call from this number, and the woman on the other end claimed to be associated with a Heritage Site. Curiously, she mentioned she was ringing from Israel! Astonishingly, she seemed to have some insights into my family tree. She put forth what appeared to be an enticing offer for a yearly subscription, insisting it would cost less if I signed up over the phone. However, I’ve held off on proceeding, as it all felt a bit too far-fetched!

On the 8th of September evening, I got a call from My Heritage on my landline - no idea how they got that number! When I asked the person where they were calling from, turns out it was from Israel, so I guess they’re not covered by the new Cold Calling laws.
