For the last few weeks, I've been getting a couple of calls every day from different numbers, scammers trying to pass off as o2. They’re always on about something, but I just drag the conversation out until they give up and hang up, realising I’m not taking the bait. Proper scam call centre stuff.

It seems we can’t report scam calls directly to the police via the 'Action Fraud' phishing form anymore. However, if you head to their phishing reporting page, there’s still some useful info. If you’ve lost money to a scam, you can ring them at [email protected]' or forward the message straight to 7726.

A bloke rang me claiming to be from O2, saying there was a mass pile-up of complaints and wanted to know if I was having any issues with my network. I acted like I couldn't quite catch what he was saying, saying the line was rubbish and kept asking him to repeat himself. Eventually, I asked where he was ringing from and why he was contacting me since I’ve never been with that dodgy network in the first place. He just shouted “bloody rubbish” and hung up on me.

Got a call from some random number at about 4 in the arvo yesterday, didn’t bother picking up. It was actually the first of three strange calls I got in the past day. Haven’t really had any annoying calls for ages, but they always seem to pop up on a Friday, probably just to freak people out.
