I got a call from someone claiming to be with a marketing firm out of Hong Kong. They said that a colleague had reached me some time ago. Sounded like a total scam to me.

got a recorded message from 02033895612 saying hmrc had been trying to get in touch with someone and threatened legal action, urging me to press 1 to talk to the case officer. this was odd since i'd never had any letters or calls from hmrc before, and they wouldn’t just ring without verifying who they’re speaking to. it’s clear this is a scam, probably designed to trick people into giving out info. absolutely do not press 1 - it could lead to serious trouble.

Got a call out of the blue saying I’m being sued by hmre or something. Was really confusing and didn’t know what to think at first. Turned out to be some kind of scam I reckon.

I called the number back and got an automated message that said something like, ‘my colleague was attempting to reach you regarding an accident.’ Then it asked if I’d been in an accident. I didn’t bother listening any further and just hung up. Wouldn’t recommend picking up or calling this number - I’ve blocked it now!
