Received a rather peculiar call moments ago. No proper greeting and the person on the line had a thick foreign accent. I received a call from someone overseas, but their accent was quite thick, making it difficult to catch what they were saying. There was also this annoying beep intermittently in the background. They had emailed me earlier, urging me to ring back with a PIN and passcode, which raised some red flags for me, so I promptly deleted that correspondence. Later on, the same caller rang me again, inquiring why I hadn’t reached out to a woman named Debbie about some new doors. I made it clear that I wasn’t interested. Shortly after, they attempted to call once more, still pestering me about contacting Debbie, and the background beeping was still persistent. I decided to end the conversation and hang up.

I received a call from someone claiming to have a client looking for testing services (I'm in surveying, you see). They asked me to ring a number and input a PIN, which instantly raised my suspicions. It seemed rather dodgy, so I opted not to proceed.

He called saying he was from some home care service about appliances I supposedly have with them, but I don’t have any. Also, I looked up their number and it definitely isn’t the one that called me.

When I probed a bit about the company he represented, he mentioned something about being a consultancy, although the whole conversation had a rather shifty vibe to it. Seemed quite suspicious, to be honest.
