Some scammer kept ringing my nan, who's 92, saying she’s been charged £700 on Amazon. She’s had two calls in as many days, and they tell her to hit 1 or 2 on the phone. But thankfully, I’ve drilled it into her to just cut off straight away. Next time they call, I’m gonna pick up and tell them to come and take the £700 off me face to face. Being a retired Royal Marine and standing 6ft 5in, I’d quite like to see if they actually dare show up!

Someone called saying they were Alex from Solar Sensor, trying to sell cheap solar panels to a few neighbours nearby. Felt totally dodgy and when I questioned them, they just hung up straight away. Definitely a scam!

I received a rather persistent call from a chap representing a solar energy firm, who was keen to conduct a roof assessment and promote their services using my property as a case study. After making it clear that I wasn’t inclined to participate, he continued to assert that the survey would remain valid for twelve months and wished to arrange a follow-up call. I mentioned that I wasn’t the only owner of the house, yet he remained undeterred and still desired to reach out again. When I requested his contact number for a callback, he insisted on calling me instead. I repeated my request for his number, and wouldn’t you know it, he abruptly ended the conversation.

I received a rather peculiar call from someone with a distinctive accent. This individual alleged they were phoning from a company related to solar energy and inquired about solar panels that I supposedly owned. The thing is, I don’t have any solar panels on my property whatsoever. It's baffling where they might have sourced this information from.
