Some scammer kept ringing my nan, who's 92, saying she’s been charged £700 on Amazon. She’s had two calls in as many days, and they tell her to hit 1 or 2 on the phone. But thankfully, I’ve drilled it into her to just cut off straight away. Next time they call, I’m gonna pick up and tell them to come and take the £700 off me face to face. Being a retired Royal Marine and standing 6ft 5in, I’d quite like to see if they actually dare show up!

Someone called saying they were Alex from Solar Sensor, trying to sell cheap solar panels to a few neighbours nearby. Felt totally dodgy and when I questioned them, they just hung up straight away. Definitely a scam!

I just received a call from this number. The caller was trying to convince me to get a roof inspection for solar panels, saying it would be valid for a whole year. He also said my property could be featured in some promotions. I told him I wasn’t interested at the moment, but he kept insisting the inspection offer stood for 12 months. Then I mentioned I don’t own the house alone and would need to check with the other owner. He asked when it would be best to ring me back, so I asked for his number instead. He kept asking when he could call me again, but didn’t give me his contact details. Eventually, he just said thanks and ended the call quite abruptly. I have no clue how he got my landline as I’m sure it’s ex-directory.

A caller claiming to be from a solar firm rang up about conducting a roof assessment and using my home for adverts. I told him I wasn’t interested, but he kept going on about how the survey lasts a year and said he’d ring me again. I mentioned I wasn’t the only owner of the place, and he still insisted on calling back. When I asked for his contact number so I could ring him instead, he just said he’d call me again. After I asked one more time for his number, he abruptly ended the call.

Got a voicemail from "Alex" claiming to be from some vague "solar centre" - never mentioned which one though, so clearly fishing around for people with solar panels.
