Some guy with an English accent rang up asking to chat with the homeowner. He claimed there was some new heating replacement deal going on. I just hung up straight away. Sounds like a right scam to me.

He didn’t introduce himself or mention the company he represented but straightaway launched into questions about our boiler. "Could you tell me if it’s a gas boiler?" he asked. Once he finished his little spiel, we politely said we needed a moment to grab a pen to jot down his number, fully aware this was likely a scam. And just like that, he hung up!

A bloke called saying there was some government deal about central heating and asked how old my heating system was. I didn’t want to say, but he insisted he'd check regardless. It was pretty clear to me it was a scam, so I just hung up.
