I got loads of calls from them trying to get my bank details to supposedly renew my broadband deal. They were also tempting me with some kind of discount. It was clear it was a scam as they didn’t even know who my internet provider was!

Got a weird call from some place called 1St Turkish Barber in Birmingham, and I'm not even close to there - I live in Scotland! I'm quite a bit older and totally bald, so this call made no sense. When I answered, there was dead silence for ages, around 10 seconds, before I just ended the call. Smells like just another telemarketing scam to me.

Got a call from a polite lady with an Asian or Indian accent, speaking English, trying to get me to sign up for a second free magazine trial. She seemed to know some of my info but asked for my sort code and bank details to set it up. When I asked why she needed those again, she said something about GDPR wiping the data, which sounded like rubbish to me. She even said she’d ring me back and all, but as soon as I mentioned I thought it was dodgy, she quickly ended the call.

I called back and it turned out to be some marketing outfit called ‘let’s subscribe’. They had an option to press 9 to get your number taken off their list, but when I did that, it just looped me back to the start. Ended up blocking them on my phone.
