I got a call from a woman claiming she was from Vodafone, telling me my SIM and phone were ready for an upgrade. I told her I wasn't interested, but she kept pressing me to explain why. In the end, I just hung up. I'm pretty sure I’m not due any upgrades, so it felt like a scam to me. Honestly, why can’t someone put a stop to these calls?

I swear I blocked this number like 18 days ago or something, as I mentioned in a comment before, but they still found a way to ring me again. Seriously, just don't pick up, folks!

Sounds like one of those typical 020 numbers causing hassle again. I just ignored the call and let it ring out. Took a quick look here and seeing the comments, it’s just the same old rubbish. Honestly, it’s just pointless and a complete waste of time for all involved.

Got a call from a guy with a strong accent claiming he was from EE, saying I was eligible for an upgrade that could lower my bills. When I told him I wasn’t interested, he got a bit rude and snapped, ‘Why wouldn’t you want to save money?’ I told him if I fancied it, I’d ring EE directly. Then he just hung up on me. What a nerve! Definitely a scam.

I got a random call from a woman with a really thick accent who claimed she was with EE, my phone provider. She was talking but honestly, I couldn’t make out a single word. Felt fishy, so I just hung up. No sign of them trying to ring me again since.

Got a call from this number around 6.30pm claiming they were from Vodafone and offering a 35% off upgrade. I said they must be mistaken as it's not Vodafone, but they kept pushing. When I mentioned this wasn't their official number, they quickly chatted with someone and then just hung up.

Got a phone call from someone saying they were from Vodafone, I told them I don't use Vodafone and ended the call. They rang back a few times asking me to reveal my network provider and other info, which I declined and hung up each time. After the third time, the caller got really annoyed and even shouted "Why won’t you tell me?" Eventually, after the fifth call, I told them to stop or I'd block the number, and thankfully, they haven't called since.

Got a call from them just now, I ignored the first ring and then, weirdly, they rang straight back about a minute later. It was an Indian lady claiming to be from EE, even though I cancelled with them over a year ago. When she asked who my provider was, I said she should know if she's really calling from EE. She kept pushing, so I told her flat out she wasn’t from my network and kindly asked her to take my number off their list and never call again. Gotta say, their persistence is something, no one’s ever called me back so quickly after the first try before.

Got a call from someone claiming to be EE. Since I’m with BT Group, I asked for their employee ID, but they just said “EE is within BT” and wouldn’t provide any ID. Definitely a scam - the call showed a random local number, not an 08 prefix like BT calls normally do. Definitely dodgy.

A bloke on the phone with a heavy accent said he was ringing from EE about upgrading my phone. I told him I only do upgrades by going into the shop because of my hearing issues. They seemed thrown off when I didn’t follow their usual script and kept repeating, “No, no, madam,” like they didn’t know what to say next.

They started off claiming to be from Vodafone. When I said I wasn’t a Vodafone customer, they kept pressing me to say which network I used. I refused to tell them and asked what the call was regarding instead. They didn't let up, still demanding I reveal my network provider. I just said I wasn’t going to say and ended the call. As I hung up, the caller swore at me.

Had some bloke on the phone trying to scam us, and my husband ended up messing around with him for about 20 minutes 😂 After that, we blasted a loud siren, and even though they rang back like 3 times, all they got was the noise from our end.

On Fri 6th Dec 2024, got a call from someone with an Indian accent pretending to be from Vodafone, trying to sell some Christmas promo. Problem is, I’m not even a Vodafone customer. After a bit of back and forth, I just lost it and gave them a mouthful in Punjabi and Hindi - the kind of filthy language I keep for moments like this. Then I just hung up.

Got a call from a bloke speaking with an Indian accent saying he was with 3 and wanted to give me an upgrade for "my PAYGO sim 3." Thing is, I’m actually a pay monthly customer with 3 and just recently renewed my contract. I asked him how he could get my details so wrong if he was really from 3. Suspicious as anything, sounded like a scam to me!
