Somebody called saying they were with a government dept about debts linked to Covid and offered to help sort it out. I asked for their official gov.uk web address and they got all confused and started talking nonsense. Definitely not a real government worker. I just blocked the number.

I got a call from 02039257156 claiming they were from the inland revenue saying I had nearly £8,000 waiting as a tax refund but I needed to pay £250 upfront to get the money. I told them to get lost and ended the call. After that, they kept ringing me non-stop - around 15 missed calls within about four and a half hours. Luckily, finding this site has made it clear they’re just scammers, so I’ve blocked and reported the number now.

These past couple of days I’ve been getting calls every few hours from someone saying they’re from a government debts department. The first time I told them to stop bothering me and that I wasn’t interested. Since then, they’ve switched things up and kept calling non-stop, even late at night, for about three days now. I’ve blocked the number but still get alerts about spam or blocked calls from them. It’s honestly a bit worrying how stubborn they are and how they keep pestering even after being blocked! Just watch out, folks!
