Received a call purporting to be from Cisco, which unnervingly synced my phone details with my LinkedIn account. They even mentioned my email address, which raised my suspicions. I'm convinced this is a scam - they might be attempting to launch a spear-phishing attack.

Received a call purportedly from someone at Rackspace, seeking to verify information that they could easily gather from my LinkedIn profile. They then proceeded to request additional personal details. The caller mentioned wanting to send me a document and asked for my email address. Strangely, this individual contacted me on my personal number, which isn't listed on LinkedIn - it's puzzling where they sourced it from. They introduced themselves as "Alex Anderson," yet his accent was distinctly Indian. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Avoid this number; it's a scam. Don't bother picking up!

They've pretended to represent Intel on two occasions and another firm once, insisting they wanted to send some documents to my work email. They even requested I reiterate specific responses from their list, which left me a bit baffled about their true intentions. I believe I answered all their questions during the initial call, but it was only after their second attempt that it clicked. I suggest just blocking the number; that'll likely put an end to their antics!

I just had a call come through to my personal mobile. Absolutely no clue how they obtained my number. I chose not to pick up, as any call from London has become quite dubious lately.

Gave me a ring but misaddressed me. They called back, this time using my proper name, claiming to be from Microsoft and emailing about xxx. I firmly denied it, and they began to hazard guesses at another email address. They were eager to send over some sort of document. COMPLETE SCAM! I've reported them to Action Fraud.

I found the whole thing rather peculiar when they contacted me. The dialogue was quite bizarre, to say the least. They insisted on whether I'd partake in a survey regarding data protection. When I declined, they shifted gears and wanted my email address to send some promotional material from a data centre firm in the UK. Honestly, I'd recommend just hanging up and saving yourself the trouble!

I received a call from someone who claimed to represent a well-known automation firm. They insisted on sending me an email regarding a crucial document. Interestingly, they had my job title and my email address already but were still keen to secure my approval before forwarding anything. When I didn’t immediately bite, they probed into how long I usually took to reply-was it three to six months, or perhaps six to twelve? At that stage, I decided enough was enough, promptly disconnected, and blocked the number.

Received a right dodgy call from some blokes in an Indian call centre, claiming to be “data-centric” from London. They obviously had snooped my LinkedIn, as they knew my name. When I pressed them on how they obtained my information, the thick South Indian accent responded, “Oh, don’t worry about that... let’s focus on...” at which point I just ended the call. Definitely block this number.

I received a rather dubious call today from someone insisting that they needed to verify my employment. They mentioned they’d obtained my number from one of the directors at my workplace. However, when I pointed out that this is a private line registered with the Telephone Preference Service and that such calls are prohibited, they promptly hung up. Clearly, it was nothing but a scam attempt.

I found myself in a peculiar situation when someone prompted me to echo their words, such as 'hello' and details about my name, surname, and workplace. It felt a bit dodgy, as if they were capturing my voice for some unknown purpose.
