This caller said they were with Cisco and somehow they already had my LinkedIn info linked to my number, plus they mentioned my email too. Pretty sure it was a scam, probably trying to spear-phish me or something.

Some bloke rang me saying he was from Rackspace. He started by asking stuff that was already on my LinkedIn, then tried to get me to give him more info. Said he wanted to send a file over and asked for my email. Weird thing is, he called my private number which I've never put on LinkedIn - no idea how he found it. Used the name "Alex Anderson," but his accent was unmistakably Indian.

Looks like a total scam, best not to pick up.

They said they were from Intel twice and another firm once, saying they wanted to send some documents to my work email. They had me repeat answers from a set list. Not really sure what their game was. I think I went along with the first call but only caught on when they rang again. Best thing is just block the number and you won’t hear from them anymore.

Got a call on my personal mobile from a number I don't recognise. No clue how they got hold of it.
I just ignored it because nowadays, any London call feels a bit dodgy.

Got a call where they completely mixed up my name. Then they phoned again, this time using the correct name, claiming to be from Microsoft and saying something about an email to xxx. I told them that wasn’t my email, and they started guessing others, saying they wanted to send over a document. Definitely a scam. I’ve reported it to Action Fraud.

Got a really odd call the other day. The person was asking if I’d complete some kind of data security survey. When I said no, they switched gears and wanted my email so they could send info about a data centre firm in the UK. Honestly, felt a bit off to me. Best thing to do? Just hang up straight away.

I got a call from someone saying they were with an automation firm I’m familiar with. They said they wanted to send me an important file via email. They already had my job title and email, but still asked if it was okay to send it. Then they started asking how long I’d need to reply - whether it’d be 3-6 months or 6-12 months. It felt odd, so I ended up hanging up and blocking the number.

Got a call from some sketchy boiler room in India, claiming they were from a "data company in London." They actually had my info from LinkedIn or something. When I asked how they got my details, the bloke with a strong South Indian accent just brushed it off with "doesn’t matter... so anyway..." I ended the call there. Definitely put this number on the block list.

Somebody called me asking to verify where I work and said they had got my phone number from one of the directors at my company. When I told them this was my personal number, it's on the TPS list, and they weren’t allowed to ring me, they just hung up. Definitely sounded like a scam to me.
