I started using the AI assistant on my Google Pixel to handle incoming calls - it came at no extra cost; I believe Apple devices offer something alike, though I haven't checked other brands. Whenever the AI picks up, the person calling usually just hangs up straight away. So I didn’t actually get any details about what they wanted, but I guess if it were a legit call, they’d stick around or maybe leave a voicemail.

Here’s some info on how to use the system set up by the police (NFIB) that makes reporting all kinds of scam calls, texts, emails, and fraud attempts simple for everyone. I found this out after raising the constant scam calls issue with my MP. It’s clear scammers don’t want this info widely known. If you don’t report these scams, don’t be surprised when they keep happening. Sure, you can report to 7726, your network operator, Ofcom, or the companies being impersonated, but sometimes these reports don’t actually reach the police for real investigations.

Some lady called "Amna" from something called Quran online academy gave me a ring - she had an Indian accent. Honestly, sounds like a total scam trying to rip people off. Can't trust it one bit.

Someone rang me saying they were from Carphone Warehouse, but their English was awful, honestly really bad. It was so obvious they were trying to scam me. I just told them sorry right away. When they asked why, I said it was for having a go with his mum. Then he just dropped the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with EE, and before I could say anything, they wanted me to say which phone I’ve got for security reasons. I told them, "Look, you rang me, you should already know." Then they asked how much I pay monthly, and I just said again, "You called me, so I’m not saying." Honestly, call it what you like, but there’s no way I’m giving out info over the phone.
