Got a call from a guy sounding Asian, claiming to be from o2... he said the network I’m on is calling his phone, but I know I’ve never had o2. He asked which network I’m with, but I just told him if he’s really calling from o2 and I’m meant to be a customer then it’s obviously a scam. Then the call just cut off.

Some bloke called Calvin from O2 rang me, trying to give me a 40% discount. I told him his colleague promised me 50% just a day ago, which seemed to confuse him. Then he suddenly said I could get it free, 100% off. I played along for a bit, then he asked if I’d settle for 40%. I reminded him about the 100% offer. He called me mad and told me to shove off. I said cheers for wasting 15 minutes of his time, which probably stopped him bothering others. As long as the weather’s rubbish, keep ‘em coming - beats watching dull daytime TV.

I declined the second call to stop it but had zero intention of answering. Did a quick search here and found it’s pretending to be O2. Definitely dodgy, watch out!

Got a call from some overseas woman talking super quick, saying there's a discount from 02. I asked for a phone number to ring her back, to make sure she was legit and actually from 02 or UMGX Ltd. She just kept pushing for a security code. I phoned 02 directly and they said it’s a known scam. Definitely don’t hand over any personal details.

Got a call from some bloke pretending to be O2, and he sent me a one-time code to try and trick me. You’re never meant to give those codes out. When I rang the real O2 on 202 to let them know about it, they said they hadn’t sent any message like that at all, so the scammers faked that part too!

Today, 14/9/23, I got a call offering a 40% discount but when I asked about my bill, they couldn’t give me any info. They tried sending me a 6 digit code, but I didn’t go along with it and they ended up getting annoyed.

Got a call saying there was a security alert - supposedly from 02. The person’s English was really hard to understand and they kept insisting I listen carefully. Then they said they’d sent me a security code by text and wanted me to give it to them. I told them I don’t even have an 02 account, and they hesitated before saying they’d transfer me to their manager. I told them no thanks, sounded dodgy. The phone rang again right after. Might be 02, but honestly, I doubt it.

Got a call from 0203 923 9383 on 29.08.23. The bloke on the other end was really hard to follow. The only thing I caught was something about my number being picked for a 40% discount - no clue what for though. When I asked which company he was with, his answer was unclear. Tried to find out how he got my number but got nowhere. Told him I only deal with companies by calling them myself and asked him not to ring back. Feels like a scam to me. Hard to give a proper rating, but I'd say this number is quite suspicious.

I received a call the other day from someone with a pronounced Indian accent, making it quite a challenge to follow what they were saying. They were rattling on about some sort of discount on my bills, insisting they were affiliated with O2. I firmly told them that I wouldn’t be sharing any personal details unless they could provide me with some information to confirm their legitimacy. They mentioned that everything they needed was on the second page of their system, but couldn't move ahead until I read back a text number to them. It felt very much like one of those clever phishing scams, if you ask me!

Total scam, said they were with o2 and wanted me to say an access code aloud. They tried to tempt me with a bill discount. I wouldn’t say the code and the person just kept repeating "listen, we’re giving you a discount". Turned quite rude when I said I’d prefer good signal instead. Ended the call - never share your codes on the phone!
