Got two missed calls plus voicemail from some automated American woman claiming to be HMRC and saying they were trying to reach Dennis Gray. Both messages warned I'd get in trouble if I didn’t call back that number. I checked the real HMRC number online and it’s nothing like the one they called from, so I just blocked it.

I got a recorded message on my new work phone warning me about "serious legal consequences" if I didn’t ring them back immediately. Sounds like a dodgy scam to me! They obviously targeted a fresh number, which is pretty sneaky. Don’t fall for it! I’ve also reported the number to HMRC through their phishing report page.

Got a couple of voicemail messages from some dodgy American woman’s computer voice claiming to be from HMRC, some Officer Dennis Grey or something. Said it was urgent and if I didn’t ring back or get my solicitor involved, legal action would follow. Sounds like a total scam to me. I’ve already reported it to the real HMRC through their official website.

Just got a ring from 0203 923 4875, and my phone actually marked it as a potential scam. They left some automated voicemail saying it’s an important message for Dennis Gray from HMRC. Didn’t even bother calling back, blocked straight away.

Got a message from a woman with an American accent, all recorded, telling me I needed to respond straight away or get my lawyer involved or else I'd be hit with a hefty penalty. Total scam, no doubt. I've already reported it to [email protected].

Got a voicemail that said it was from HMRC, warning me about some legal trouble. They never gave me any taxpayer ID or anything tied to an actual account. Feels like a total scam to me.

got a dodgy call claiming to be officer dennis gray from hm revenue & customs. left a voicemail saying something like, “don’t ignore this message, if you don’t ring us back or your solicitor doesn’t either, you’ll be in legal trouble.” ended with “goodbye and take care.” definitely sounds like a scam to me.

I totally agree with what others have been saying. I usually ignore calls from numbers I don't know on both my mobile and landline. The voicemail was to call Ms Gray from "hmre back or else," spoken with an American accent. The last time I got a call from 02039002675, it was a guy with a strong British accent saying similar things. Definitely felt like a scam to me! I've blocked both those numbers now.

Got a couple of calls this morning on my mobile from the same number. The second call left a voicemail saying it was from HMRC and that I shouldn’t ignore it. They told me to call back on their number or get my solicitor to ring them, and if I didn’t, to “be warned and face the consequences. goodbye.” The message was really harsh and robotic. It’s quite worrying for older people, but I sussed it out as a scam straight away and have just chosen to ignore it.

I got a call from this number and it seemed really dodgy. The person sounded like they were playing a recording, saying they were from HMRE or something like that. Definitely not right, plus there was an accent, maybe American or Canadian, which was a bit off too.

At about 10:57 this morning, my phone rang but I couldn't get to it quick enough. Later, I found a voicemail warning me that failing to return the call could land me in legal trouble. I rang the number back straight away - it looked like it was from London. When someone picked up, their accent wasn’t English. I explained that I’d received a call from this number, but they just hung up on me right away. I tried once more, but it went to an answering machine saying no one was free to take my call.

Got a call from this number a couple of weeks ago, didn’t bother calling back though. Then it rang again today which I found a bit odd. If it was really important, I figured they’d try to get in touch some other way, like email or something. Turns out it’s all a load of rubbish, so no need to stress about it.

Got a call that was clearly a scam. The voicemail used the google text-to-speech voice and sounded really dodgy. If it was truly "customs", they wouldn't immediately jump to threatening prosecution over the phone like that.

They keep ringing me and filling up my voicemail but when I ring them back to check if it’s really HMRC, they just cut off the call. It’s so frustrating!
