I received a call allegedly from BT on the 17th of November, 2017, around half eight in the morning. They seem to ring me at all hours, and their English isn’t quite right, very jumbled, you know?

I've been getting a series of phone calls from this number, both on my home phone and my mobile, claiming to be from BT. Each caller has had a noticeable Asian accent. They keep insisting that my internet is in danger, but as soon as I mention that I’m not going to power up my computer, they start threatening to cut off my internet service. When I pointed out that I'm not actually a BT customer, they responded with something along the lines of "your server goes through BT." I firmly told them I recognise their call as a scam and that I’ve no desire to engage any further, so I hung up. It really makes you ponder how they got hold of my landline and mobile numbers in the first place!

Got a call at 8.25 in the morning, some bloke claiming to be from Microsoft Windows asked if I was the owner of my computer. I said no, he asked where the owner was and I told him “on the loo.” Then he wanted to know if I was calling from a business or personal number, so I told him he was the scammer! He fired back calling me a scammer! We ended up arguing about who was scamming who, it was hilarious because I was just laughing and he got proper annoyed before hanging up on me.

My experience was pretty much like the others here. It’s strange how this number actually shows up when you use 1471 - loads of these scams say they can’t find the caller’s number. Maybe this one’s worse because it looks genuine, which could trick people who aren’t careful.

Got a call from someone named Angel who was clearly reading from a script, saying she was from BT. I just hung up straight away. She phoned back and started threatening me, saying someone was trying to hack my phone line (wouldn’t be surprised if it was her!). Then she said they’d cut off my internet. I told her to do it and see what happens. Guess what? Internet still fine, so obviously not BT!

Got a call from 0203919381 around 08.49 today. I was still in bed, barely got six hours' sleep, so it was really irritating. I tried to get to the phone downstairs but missed it. They've called me loads before but never this early in the morning. Proper rude way to wake someone up! I've labelled it 'DANGEROUS' because you never know if they're trying to hack into your computer or something.

Angel Williams rang me about 8:30 in the morning and started threatening to cut off my broadband. I ended the call, but she phoned back three times straightaway. Then, I got two other calls right after hers from different people, all speaking with Indian accents, saying they were from BT Security.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT's tech team. I said I was about to head out and asked for her number to return the call. She gave me 0800 111 4567, which I haven’t dialled yet. When I checked 1471, the caller’s number was 0203 919381. Honestly, whenever someone calls me with an overseas accent, I always assume it’s some kind of scam.

I received a rather alarming call, with the caller claiming to be alerting me about a ferocious virus wreaking havoc on my computer. They were rather pushy, urging me to power up my device so they could supposedly assist me.

When I probed a bit further, they mentioned their main office was situated at 22 Uxbridge Road, and they had a branch located at 100 Victoria Street - both in London, as stated. Their names sounded typically British, yet their accents hinted at a background from the Far East.

I found their persistence rather off-putting and have a strong suspicion that they might not be entirely trustworthy. Their unsolicited call, coupled with a rather aggressive tone, raises my concerns.

Got a call from some guy claiming to be from BT, sounded like one of those Indian/packet scams everyone talks about. When he asked me to switch on my computer, I just told him where to go. It's shocking how these scammers manage to grab our numbers and annoying that BT hasn’t sorted out better security. This kind of thing really preys on older folks who often trust people too easily, and it’s just not right at all.

I've had about half a dozen calls from this number today alone, and most times they just cut off straight away. When I do pick up after a couple of rings (been sat by the phone just in case!), it's usually a man with an Asian accent on the line. I just end up hanging up. Maybe one day I'll humour them and see what their deal is. This number's been bothering me for months now. I'm nearly 80 and really don't need the hassle every single day!

Had a nearly identical experience, this person said they were from BT and insisted we disable our firewall. When I asked for her name and number, she said Angel Williams, but her accent was clearly Asian. They ring round 8 in the morning quite a bit. Normally, I ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise, but one day I couldn’t find my specs to see who it was, saw it wasn’t an overseas number and picked up. Something similar happened last year when I actually answered, and a guy with an Indian accent said he was ringing about a car crash I supposedly had. I told him I hadn’t been in any accident, then weirdly he started talking about how terrible my voice sounded and asked if I wanted to go on a date with him. I was totally shocked and just ended the call.

I've received numerous calls from this number, only for them to just hang up. I've decided to ignore their calls now, yet they still managed to ring me again.

I received a call today around 8:30, from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from the BT internet team, wanting to chat about my Wi-Fi. I quickly realised it was a scam, so I politely declined and hung up!

Can you believe it? They claimed there was an issue with my internet. I just kept them chatting away for like 25 minutes. No charge!

Got a call on my TPS number from one of those dodgy robo voices - definitely a scam. Blocked that one plus 53 others already.

This number keeps ringing me but no one ever answers, just dead silence. Seems like some sort of robotic call or something. Sadly, I still haven’t had the chance to chat with this so-called Western Oriented Gentleman they mention, pretty sure it’s a scam tho.

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT about my internet. I asked him to prove he was really from BT by sending me an email, but neither he nor the person he said was his 'supervisor' could manage it, so I just ended the call.

This bloke from India has been ringing non stop for days now. Keeps telling me something about my BT broadband getting cut off tomorrow. Never had BT in my life. Total scam, watch out!

A guy with a foreign accent called saying he was from BT tech support about issues we supposedly had. My husband told him to buzz off and hung up. Then the phone rang again, I picked up and the bloke asked to speak to the "very rude gentleman" he’d spoken to earlier. I gave the phone to my husband, who asked what he wanted. The guy then started swearing at him, calling him all sorts of horrible names. Proper nasty behaviour!!!

Got a call at 8:30 this morning, bloke on the line said hello but you could hear a proper call centre buzzing in the background, then they just dropped the call. Honestly, no complaints here!

This was someone called Alex from BT, supposedly about internet issues. I told him I don't have a computer and he just ended the call! These calls are pointless and just mess with people who aren't clever enough. Someone should get these lines blocked.

I received a call just now, but as soon as I picked up, they disconnected without saying a word. Quite peculiar, isn't it?

This number rang me up twice today - first, it was obvious a robo-call, some automated ‘Hello’, then as soon as I answered, it turned into an Indian call centre bloke going on about problems with BT Internet. When I told ’em I actually use Virgin Cable internet, the person got really rude, used bad language and hung up on me.

Got two calls earlier today from a woman with an Indian accent claiming she was from BT saying there was an issue with my internet. Since I’m not a BT customer, I just let her go on and on - kinda hard to make out what she was saying. Eventually I asked if she was ringing from India and she snapped back “no London!” then just cut the call. Bit of a laugh really.

Got a call from this number, bloke had an Indian accent and said his name was "Steven". He wanted to chat about my broadband, but it felt dodgy from the start. Proper service people usually ask for your name and are polite, not pushy like they’re just after your cash with some kind of scam.

Got a ring from this number earlier, some bloke with an Indian accent saying he was from BT tech support about my internet (which isn’t even BT). The call was rubbish quality, sounded dodgy. I told him if he really worked for BT tech support, he should fix his phone line, then I just ended the call.

I’ve had this firm ring me up loads of times in the past few years and again quite a few times just recently. They keep asking for an Anthony Birmingham, saying he’s meant to get a refund for some IT glitch he had. Thing is, I’ve no idea who that is. They just keep calling and it’s really annoying.

Someone said they were from BT tech support but didn’t know the right name on the account. I ended up chatting with them for a bit, trying to get them to prove their identity since we’ve been having LOADS of issues with our internet and I was expecting a call from a BT rep that never came. The call was late, so I wanted to be sure before ending it. Strange enough, they actually rang me back!

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent saying someone tried to hack our PC. When I asked her to prove she was from BT, she quickly handed me over to a man who also sounded Indian, but he couldn’t confirm he worked for BT either. Don’t trust them with your info - ask them questions about your security or stuff only a legit BT rep would know.

This number rang me a couple of times today. I picked up the second call and an Indian bloke who said his name was Peter started talking about some sort of debt scheme. I told him no idea what he was on about and just ended the call. Smells fishy, probably some scammer fishing for info.

This number and another one, 0161943666, have been ringing me quite a bit. They've given different reasons for calling, like something about my router being hacked. When I tried to ask more questions to figure out what was going on, they just ended the call.

Got a call from this bloke claiming to be Steven at half past nine, said he was from BT about my router. Then later at one thirty, some woman named Jessica rang saying the same thing. Both sounded Indian. When I told them the BT engineer was actually here with me, they both hung up pretty sharpish.

This number just rang me up. I answered with a few "Hello"s but it was dead silent on the other side. I figured I'd wind down the chat by saying, "Goodbye... forever," coz I was ready to add it to my call block list. Just as I uttered "forever," a robotic voice came back saying "Goodbye." Weirdly interesting, never had a dodgy caller respond like that before!
