6 yearsI received a rather alarming call the other day with some automated American voice proclaiming that failure to press 1 would result in my immediate arrest for tax evasion! Naturally, I hit 1 out of sheer curiosity, only to be met with some hold music before being transferred to a chap with a very strong Indian accent from what sounded like a bustling call centre. He asked how he could assist me, to which I replied that I really didn’t need anything, yet he insisted I should press 1 if I wished to avoid being detained.
