Got a call from someone claiming to be with EE, but the bloke had a weird accent. Oddly, he seemed to know more about my phone plan than I did! He was pushing this amazing deal saying it would save me loads and I wouldn’t have to pay any fees for quitting my contract a year early. I asked him if he honestly thought I was daft. He just bluntly said, "Yes madam, you're daft not to grab this offer that saves you tons." I told him it was him who was daft, trying so hard to scam me. Not long after, he ended the call.

They never said who they were at first, just mentioned they’re our internet provider (which they definitely aren’t). I asked for the company name, then got put through to a “supervisor” who wanted to send a code by text to verify identity. When I refused, they swore at me and hung up. Looks like a total scam - don’t trust them or give any details.

Total rip off! Nearly got caught out, they’re so convincing! Claimed to be from EE offering a loyalty discount. They even sent a fake “MyEE” text to make it seem real. I answered a call from a chap who seemed to have an accent that sounded somewhat Asian or perhaps Indian. When I greeted him with a simple "Hello," there was a rather long pause of about five seconds before he replied, and I found myself having to repeat "hello" a few times to get his attention. This made me quite suspicious right away. He claimed to be from EE, but when I pressed him with, "How can I be sure you're actually from EE?" he abruptly ended the call without so much as a second thought. That was literally the whole exchange. I'd wager it's definitely a dodgy setup. EE never contacts me directly. Quite the odd situation, really. It's essential to shine a light on these shady characters and remind them that they can't pull the wool over our eyes.

I had a rather odd encounter with a chap who claimed to be from O2. I didn’t engage with him and promptly hung up. To add to the confusion, I then received text messages from O2 indicating that I had been in touch with them and they provided a code number. The thing is, I hadn’t reached out to O2 at all!
