Got a call from someone pretending to be from Halifax, claiming there was a blocked transaction on my account. Sounded dodgy to me. Definitely a scam, be careful!

I tried checking with Halifax and they confirmed it’s a number they use. I couldn’t find a single thing about it anywhere online. Honestly, it’s ridiculous that they don’t make that info available to the public, someone seriously dropped the ball on that.

this number is totally bogus, Halifax would never ring you about a blocked transaction! I got a call from someone saying they were from Halifax, talking about a failed payment. weird thing is, i had a transaction stopped about an hour earlier coz they suspected fraud. now i’m wondering if there’s a data breach or something. has anyone else got a call like that right after their payment was blocked?

This morning I got a call from this number but didn’t pick up, and they were claiming to be Lloyds Bank - which they definitely weren’t. Since then I’ve had loads of fake texts and calls from different numbers saying there were some dodgy transactions on my card, telling me to get in touch because they supposedly “blocked” the fraud for me. I think someone must've stolen my details and card info from an online order I made with a small cleaning supplies shop.

Got a robocall saying it was my bank, telling me to do stuff. Rang the bank myself, and they said it wasn’t them. Definitely a scam.

Got a couple of missed calls earlier from someone saying there was some problem with my Bank of Scotland card. I’m just gonna ignore it and probably block the number. Seems dodgy to me.

Got a call on both my landline and mobile from someone claiming to be Lloyds Bank, saying there was suspicious activity on my debit card. They wanted me to give the last four digits because they said my card was declined. Told them it wasnt, then they just hung up.

The lady had a British accent, sounded proper, so I asked if I could speak to Claire. But then I just ended the call. Good thing I looked it up first!

I'm kinda iffy about that call, not quite sure what it was all about.

My phone stopped the call before it rang because it blocked the number, so I didn’t actually hear it. Turns out, there was a dodgy transaction that Bank of Scotland caught and blocked for me.

I got a message saying there was a weird transaction with “Lloyds Bank” on my account. But, it’s not actually from Lloyds at all. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got a voicemail that mentioned my full name, claiming to be from Halifax to verify a transaction. I just ended the call right away and looked up my bank account to be safe.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Halifax about a dodgy transaction called "The NebulaAp". The lady sounded polite and had a Scottish accent, but it turned out to be a proper scam. Always double-check by ringing the number on the back of your card, don’t trust these random calls!

Today, this number has called me twice. Both times, it was an automated message claiming to be from Halifax, using my full name and saying there was a declined card transaction they needed to verify for fraud. One message told me to press any key to speak to an agent, the other asked me to ring an 01422 number. Didn’t fall for it, obviously. Had a look on Halifax’s official site and couldn’t find either number listed there. Definitely seems dodgy.

Claimed to be from Bank of Scotland regarding a payment, but the number looks nothing like theirs. Definitely a scam or some trick to get you to move your money somewhere else.
