Got a call from some appliance insurance people. They checked that I’m over 50 and said this means my monthly fees should be cheaper. Then they asked me to give them my bank sort code and account number again, claiming they don’t store those details. Bit odd really, because when they hike the payments each year, they don’t seem to ask for that stuff. Feels a bit fishy to me.

Got three calls off them, kept asking for my bank info. Claimed it was about a broken appliance or something. Proper scammers, watch out!

My mum got caught out by some appliance insurance scam where she handed over her card info. They never sent any paperwork through. I rang up to cancel it and ask for our money back. I’ve had to call two more times since then, and they’ve just said they’ll post a cheque.
