A woman with an Asian accent rang me. Since I don’t know any Asian women, I just put the phone down and looked up the number to see who was calling. It was clear it belonged to some sort of scammer. Being older, I’ve almost been tricked before and ended up spending £60 fixing my computer, so if it’s someone unfamiliar, I just ignore the call!

Some muppet rang me pretending to be from O2. Honestly, best thing is not to pick up at all, but if you’re reading this now, chances are you already did. If you did, just be aware that your number’s probably been put on some “active” contact list now.

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent saying she was calling from O2 and trying to give me 40% discount on my phone bill. She even texted me a code and the sender showed as O2 which was a bit worrying. Didn’t click on anything though cause it smelled fishy. Total scam, so I just blocked the number. Watch out for this one!

I saw the number but didn’t pick up since I didn’t know who it was, figured if it was urgent they’d leave a voicemail. Reading through the replies, ignoring was definitely the right call. Just to add, this call came through today, 18th October, not ages ago, so they’re obviously up to their old scams again!

Got a call from a lady saying she was with "Currys PC World", which was quite clearly a load of rubbish. I might've been a bit harsh, sorry about that. Anyway, ended up blocking the number.

I always avoid picking up calls from 020 numbers because they're usually just scams. If it's something important, they'll just leave a voicemail anyway.

Just got a call from this number but i could barely make out what they were saying. I asked them to hold on a sec while i turned the TV volume down, then they hung up right away. Seems fishy so i’ve blocked the number just in case it’s a scam.

02039061167 Just got a call from someone speaking English with quite a strong Indian accent, hard to follow what they were saying exactly. They mentioned paying £30 a month or something, but I honestly have no clue what it was about. Felt really dodgy so I just ended the call straight away. Honestly, this sounds like a scam where they might try to get your card details if you’re not careful. Best thing is to hang up straight away and block the number!

Just a heads up about a possible scam - someone might ring you pretending to be from your phone provider. They’ll say they need to check your identity and then try to trick you into giving them your bank details. Don’t pick up calls from numbers you don’t know and if you can, block them straight away so they can’t contact you again. Keep an eye out and don’t let them get their hands on your private info!

Got a call supposedly from O2, but felt like one of those dodgy phone contract scams. Something didn’t sit right with it at all.

Somebody rang pretending to be from Curry’s or Pc World, trying to push phone deals on me. The moment I mentioned I’d just lost my job, they cut the call straight away. Normally, real call centres would show a bit of sympathy like "oh, sorry to hear that," but this one just dropped me and probably went hunting for their next target. Classic scam stuff, really.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who said her name was Jennifer and she was ringing from some mobile company. She started going on about amazing deals for 3 Network. Then she asked me what network I’m on, and when I told her 3, I said surely if she was from there she’d already know that. I just ended the call and blocked the number straight away.
