Pretending to be with Microsoft, a guy called Michael Roy, EMP ID MS11036, rang my elderly client from this number 03448002400. He claimed he was from the Microsoft office at 100 Thames Valley Park, Microsoft Campus, Reading, RG6 1WG. She ended up letting them on to her laptop, but things went downhill when they requested her bank info. When she attempted to cut off their access, they locked her laptop entirely, meaning she had to do a full system reinstall and lost all her personal files. Proper nasty scam.

Some bloke with a thick Asian accent rang me up, said he was from Microsoft and tried to get remote access to my PC. I played along on the phone for a bit, then flat out told him, “You’re a conman, go find a proper job!” He started arguing and even threatened to lock my computer so I couldn’t use it anymore. In the end, he bailed - reckon I outmatched him with my sassy attitude!

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be Peter Watson from Microsoft support, speaking with a strong Indian accent. He was saying my computer was sending out bad packets or something dodgy like that. I asked him which device he meant - my desktop or my two laptops, which aren’t even on Windows. After that, he just told me to f**** off and ended the call. Definitely a dodgy scam, I’m flagging it as dangerous since some folks might fall for this rubbish.

Got a call claiming to be from Microsoft, supposedly from their Reading branch, telling me someone was using my computer and it wasn’t me. The caller gave the name Michael Roy and an address on 100 Thames Valley Park. Started with a woman speaking, then she passed the phone to a bloke who sounded worried I wasn’t getting what he was on about. I just told him thanks and ended the call.

I quickly told her she was trying to con me and hung up straight away. She rang back, all annoyed, asking why I’d done that, so I ended the call again! Honestly, what sort of fool do they take me for? Hope she gets what she deserves in the end.

Got a dodgy phone call from a bloke with an Indian accent trying to sound all official. You'd hear the usual call centre buzz in the background. He said he was from Microsoft’s tech team. I threw him off by giving a different last name than the one he used to address me, but he just kept going as if nothing was wrong. I told him straight up he was full of it and not from Microsoft, then ended the call. No more calls after that. Pretty clear it was a ploy to get me to install some nasty software. I got a call from a guy with an Asian accent who said his name was Oliver (yeah, right), saying he was ringing from Microsoft about some supposed fraud on my PC, just after 9 in the morning. He just kept ramming on non-stop, and honestly I couldn’t make out half of what he was trying to say. Asked for my computer details too. Told him a few times that I’d just got up (which was true), but he didn’t seem to care what I said. Then he went quiet for a bit and said he wasn’t joking. Sounded exactly like the two other calls I’ve had in the last week or so. Total scam, no doubt. Gave him a sharp "no thanks" and hung up immediately.

A woman with an accent called me claiming there was suspicious activity coming from my computer, but she wouldn’t give any clear details. She kept saying my personal info had been compromised. I told her my system gets checked all the time for threats, but she argued that it wasn’t about a virus. I explained it’s scanned for all sorts of malware and other issues, but she just kept going over the same thing without explaining anything. After a while, she threatened, “We’ll block your computer then,” which made me laugh more than worry.

Beware of any calls pretending to be from Microsoft - they're just spammers! Microsoft never calls out of the blue like that, they always get in touch by email if you've raised a problem or made a request. So, if you get a random call saying it's Microsoft, it's definitely not legit.
