Pretending to be from Microsoft, this individual identified as Michael Roy, with an employee ID MS11036, called from 100 Thames Valley Park, Microsoft Campus, Reading, RG6 1WG. The phone number used was 0344 800 2400. They managed to con my elderly client, gaining remote access to her laptop. It wasn’t until they requested her banking information upon her attempt to terminate the session that she realised she was being duped. In a shocking turn of events, they subsequently locked her laptop entirely, leading to a full system reinstall and leaving her without any of her files. Truly appalling behaviour!

Some bloke with a thick Asian accent rang me up, said he was from Microsoft and tried to get remote access to my PC. I played along on the phone for a bit, then flat out told him, “You’re a conman, go find a proper job!” He started arguing and even threatened to lock my computer so I couldn’t use it anymore. In the end, he bailed - reckon I outmatched him with my sassy attitude!

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be Peter Watson from Microsoft support, speaking with a strong Indian accent. He was saying my computer was sending out bad packets or something dodgy like that. I asked him which device he meant - my desktop or my two laptops, which aren’t even on Windows. After that, he just told me to f**** off and ended the call. Definitely a dodgy scam, I’m flagging it as dangerous since some folks might fall for this rubbish.

Claimed to be from Microsoft, the caller said they were based in Reading and insisted that my computer was being accessed by someone other than myself. The name given was Michael Roy, and he mentioned an address at 100 Thames Valley Park. It started with a woman's voice, but then a man took over who seemed quite anxious that I wasn't grasping what he was trying to convey. I politely thanked him and ended the conversation.

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent claiming to be from Microsoft, saying my computer was at risk (yeah right, more like her scam!). I quickly told her she was trying to con me and hung up straight away. She rang back, all annoyed, asking why I’d done that, so I ended the call again! Honestly, what sort of fool do they take me for? Hope she gets what she deserves in the end.

Got a dodgy phone call from a bloke with an Indian accent trying to sound all official. You'd hear the usual call centre buzz in the background. He said he was from Microsoft’s tech team. I threw him off by giving a different last name than the one he used to address me, but he just kept going as if nothing was wrong. I told him straight up he was full of it and not from Microsoft, then ended the call. No more calls after that. Pretty clear it was a ploy to get me to install some nasty software. Like many others, I received a call from a chap with an Asian accent who introduced himself as Oliver (posh name for a scammer, isn't it?). He claimed to be representing Microsoft and was blabbering on about suspicious activities on my computer just after 9 in the morning. Honestly, he went on and on, hardly pausing for breath, and I struggled to catch what he was droning about. He wanted my computer details, but I told him I had literally just rolled out of bed three times (which was true, mind you), yet he didn’t seem to hear a word. At one point, he suddenly insisted he wasn’t joking. Quite the coincidence, as I had received two remarkably similar calls just in the past week. Clearly, it’s a massive con! I told him to take a hike using a cheeky little phrase we all know too well and promptly cut the line.

A woman with an accent called me claiming there was suspicious activity coming from my computer, but she wouldn’t give any clear details. She kept saying my personal info had been compromised. I told her my system gets checked all the time for threats, but she argued that it wasn’t about a virus. I explained it’s scanned for all sorts of malware and other issues, but she just kept going over the same thing without explaining anything.
