I quickly corrected the caller, explaining that my appliance was actually covered by another provider and had been for quite a while, with no upcoming renewal in sight. He then started rambling on about Covid-19 and how numerous engineers were off sick and that their firm was stepping in to assist. I reiterated that my policy wouldn't be up for renewal until July this year. At that point, he abruptly ended the conversation.

I barely had time to express that both the warranty and the machine had been defunct for years before she abruptly hung up. Quite uncalled for, if you ask me! I reckon it’s a classic case of a scam attempt. What’s your take on it?
